How short can a cycle be?

Is a 9/10 day cycle possible? This is what I seemed to have in January, don’t know what is going on with my body now, came off the pill in October and have been normal up until then, but also I had Lletz for abnormal cells last April, starting to think something more sinister might be going on:( Also had spotting after DTD a few days after this short cycle started but AF had ended…help anyone? xx

A 9/10 day cycle might be possible but it's not normal, I'm afraid. I think cycles can be 'short' ie 23/24 days and still in the realms of normal but 9/10 days sounds unusual. Are you sure it was a period and not spotting?

It an take a while for your body to settle down after coming off the pill and October is still relatively recent in terms of number of cycles so it could be nothing at all.

I had lletz a few years ago and I know that it makes you worry. I don't want to scare you but I did have some bleeding after sex before I had the procedure which I think was linked to the cell irregularity. I think it's definitely worth a trip to the docs to check all's OK. The good news is since the lletz I've had a healthy DS and the pregnancy was fine so issues of this sort might be worrying but don't affect fertility etc.

I'm sure it's all fine but if it were me I'd get it checked just for peace of mind, sounds like it's making you worried as if TTC wasn't stressful enough

Thank you so much for your reply! It was shorter than my normal af, about 3 days, started off at brown discharge then turned into for me what is quite heavy bleeding... I asked a question yesterday explaining what had happened and was told it would probably be a short cycle. The thing is if this wasn't a normal af, this month's af should have been here Friday which was 5 days ago now but all I'm getting is negatives everyday so it's confusing. I am going to make an appointment with doc but it's at least a 3 week wait for an appointment! You're advice is really appreciated and I'm glad that since your lletz you have went on to be healthy and have a family:) xx
