Clearblue digital OPK - are they false?!

Struggling with OPKs!! First month using them. Been off pill since end of sept and think I'm now onto a 27 day cycle. Been using clear blue digital ovulation test and got PEAK DAYS on CD 12 and 13. Kept testing as thought it was early and peaked again on CD 16. I'd more CM and pains on CD 16/17 than I did earlier in my cycle. Tested again today just to be sure CD18 and this is the reading. It's not digital as the computer won't let you test for at least 48hrs. The lines look pretty dark?

Hi, I've used the pink CB digi ov test this month (circle or smiley). I was so pissed off with it as I ALWAYS ov with cheap ov sticks on cd 14, except one occasion in the last 16 months which was cd15. I never get a positive the day after my positive or beyond, I get it for literally 6 hours.
I have caught (and lost) 8 times in that time. I finally got a smiley this morning on cd18!!! I don't know wth is going on this month! My second line was darker that the usual line, so from yours I'd say your almost there but not quite :)
How come you can't get a reading for 48 hours?

Really - ah it drives you mad huh?? When you peak on clear blue digital you can't test for 48 hrs - the computer doesn't read it and it stays with the solid smiley for 2 days. I just did this one without monitor.

Tested tonight as 48 hrs passed and negative. Confess why I got two peaks - CD12 and CD16?! Anyway think ill test again tomorrow morning?

Maybe your hormones were still high. I've not tested again with mine, I got my smiley yesterday and just going from that.
I had one cycle where I had positives on the cheap tests for a whole week! (Sorry I didn't mention that above) but every other cycle I got it for about 6 hours.
Maybe you should go off the first one and as long as you've 'covered the bases' Wink you should be ok.

If you're on a 27 day cycle then peak on days 12 and 13 make sense with a 14 day luteal phase.

That line looks dark but it's not solid so I'd say negative and believe the earlier result. Remember that the peak means that you'll OV within the next 36 hours, not that you're ovulating that second.

I'll test again next month and think I'll start temping too so I can be doubly sure. Strange thing is I had ever so slight spotting cd17/18 and cramping. Really bizarre
