My cousin has been ttc for 3 years now to no avail! her doc recommended she get her tubes looked at and clean out or blown out?? any way she had this done yesterday, and was told that her tubes are clear which has depressed her as she was hoping this procedure might show any possible explanation of why she hasnt fallen yet, anyway one or two of her friends have said although they dont actually seem to do anything they have fallen pregnant after this procedure! - has anyone had this done with any success stories???? any advice or input would be fab, she is at her wits end

I had this procedure done after ttc for almost a year. The consultant said everything was clear and I conceived within a month. I'm sure it helped!

Had this done too - got pregnant very soon afterwards after trying for nearly two years. My consultant said they wern't sure why but the procedure did seem to help improve fertility - might some little blockage too small to see which gets blown away by the procedure. Fingers crossed for your cousin...

It sounds like she had a HSG done - this is a tubal x-ray whereby dye is injected into the uterus via the cervix. Its a useful test to have done as it can spot any deformities inside the tube.

If her periods are very irregular there well may be an ovulatory problem.

Has her man been tested at all?. He should certainly have been tested to rule out any male factor problems.

After 3 years of ttc without success there is likely to be a problem with either one or both of them.

What tests have been done to date; do you know?.

As far as i know (which any knowledge is limited as she has told most people she doesnt want kids thats why she hasnt got any!!! - it helps her in some way i think) her and her husband have had almost every test going and they have only ever been told that no-one can find anything wrong with either of them! It must be the most awful and frustrating thing ever It's probably been said many times but i think if you know what the problem is, then at least you can look towards sorting it, but if nobody knows what the problem is or why its not happening for them, that must be even harder to accept nature sucks sometimes!

My homeopath advised it in case there was a plug of mucous or something blocking tubes. Consultant disagreed, so I didn't have it. But the homeopath (he was a GP as well) still felt it helped in some cases. (My ds was conceived after a long haul flight, something else discussed here recently).

I had lap and dye after 4 years ttc. Drs tried to push us into IVF but we persued every avenue first! I have 1 blocked tube and one part blocked, but conceived one month after procedure - so defo works!! Fingers crossed for yr friend.
