Day 21 progesterone results..Help!

Hi Ladies,

I am on my first cycle of Clomid and on Cycle day 27 today. I just had a phone call from my doctor to confirm my results of my Day 21 progesterone blood test which showed 185! Is this normal? She said it means I ovulated but sort of left it at that. Any advice? What did you ladies have? Any feedback or experiences would be much appreciated!

Anything above 30 suggests ovulation.

That being said, it is not a cast iron guarantee, just an indication.

Mine was 10 the month I got pregnant, to say I was shocked was an understatement!

What sort of doctor are you referring to; is it the GP?.

Do you have a diagnosis?.

If you're taking clomid then ideally you should be under the care of a gynae rather than a GP as they do not have the time to monitor you properly.

Usually they like to see a level of 30 or over to indicate ovulation.

Clomid can affect hormone levels markedly and you should be monitored ideally with both blood tests (clomid can increase LH levels markedly) and internal ultrasounds to make sure an egg is actually leaving the ovary. These tests should be done monthly.
