When does temp start to dip before approaching AF?

I've not been temping before now, and I had sharp pinching - at 6 DPO about 30 pin pricks on lowest left abdomen and awful dull period like cramps,exactly like AF has already approached, all over 7-8 DPO.

At 7 DPO 5 am my temperature was a 35.6 - a significant low for me, since next morning though it's gone back up to 36.6 and maintaining for couple of days. So 8 DPO and 9 DPO are both at that significantly higher temp of 36.6 - a degree higher than the morning of the godawful AF like cramps, and the day after the pin pricks.

I've got about 5 days left to go for AF or BFP due Sunday. My question is around when might I see a temp drop in case I am not pregnant and AF is approaching?

For me I get a temp drop the day before af arrives.
From what I've read (no experience to back this up) what you describe sounds like implantation!! Good luck

Haven't temped before so don't know. Anyone else's experiences will be most useful!

Focus I had that when I fell pregnant with DS. I even told DH that we were out for that month as I had period pains.

Some people like myself, don't have a temp drop until after af arrives unfortunately! So a continuing high temp means nothing for me until after missed af.

I get a dip usually 1 or 2 days before AF, but everyone's different. Not sure what happens if you are pregnant, I think it stays level??

Your temperature will stay high if you are pregnant. Typically 16 raised temperatures above the cover line can indicate pregnancy. Quite often in the evening if you take your temperature you might notice that your temperature is lower on the night before you get af.

homeaway - BBT (basal body temperature) should be taken after at least three hours sleep, preferably at the same time each morning after a nights sleep. Taking temperature at any other times of the day is not significant in any way. Also it is generally considered that 18 days of post ovulation temperatures in the biphasic pattern is indicative of pregnancy. A good website to go to is fertilityfriend.com

You misunderstood my post, I was not advocating replacing taking your temperature in the evening instead of the morning, of course you have to take your temperature after three hours sleep, before doing anything and at EXACTLY the same time every day to get an accurate chart. What i was saying is that many women find that the day before af arrives they have a temperature drop in the evening the day before, it just gives you more information , if you want it.
