I came off the mini pill on December 19th and two days later had an AF lasting 7 days!

I did 10 ovulation tests when I should have been ovulating but all showed a negative resultHmm I did however have EWCM???

I have still not had an AF since the one in December and did a pregnancy test this morning which was negative - I am so so upset as feel like there may be something wrong which is out of my control! I am now day 34 of my cycle.

Before I got pregnant with DD I was on the combined pill and period returned as normal and got pregnant straight away. I was also ovulating the month I got pregnant and this was backed up by lots of positive ovulation sticks!

My mum took ten years to have me Shock and eventually had me and my sisters by IVF. I'm now stupidly worrying that what was wrong with my mum could be wrong with me!

So has anyone else had irregular periods and no ovulation when coming off the mini pill?
When would be a good time to get it checked out at the doctors?
Any advice to calm a ttc worry wort like me?

Hi Lottiesmama312
I didn't have a period for over a year after coming off the pill, then over the next 3 years they slowly came more regularly first at 6 month intervals, then 3 month intervals and then 2-3 month intervals.
I have been diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis and am currently on clomid.
My symptoms for PCOS were oily skin, depression, irregular periods, I have slightly more body hair than would be considered normal, acne and a scan showed lots of cysts on my ovaries. I also have night terrors which are a less commonly known symptom.

If you are worried I would say go and see a doctor and get referred to a specialist, particularly considering your mum's history. If there is a problem they can help and if everything is ok you will have peace of mind.

Good luck and fingers Xd Smile

It has only been 1 month since you stopped taking the pill. I would give it a few more months for your body to get back to normal and your cycle to regulate before going to the GP

My GP wouldn't even do anything until 6 months

Thanks so much ladies - still no AF but going to sit tight and wait a few more weeks to see if my cycle can sort it's self out. Fingers crossed!

Hi Lottie,

I have PCOS, took over a year to conceive DC1, 4 years DC2.

I went on the mini-pill (Cerazette / Cerelle) 7 years ago.

Stopped the pill in July, had a period in August which lasted about 14 days, then another in September & October, (the September and October periods were more regular than normal!)

I had blood tests in September, October and November due to the fact I knew it would take me a long time to get pregnant.

All showed Progesterone levels of less than 10 (which basically means no ovulation)

In November I started feeling sick, blood pressure was high. Did a test and guess what? BFP!

You could have blown me down with a feather!

Now 15+4
