when to use cylogest progesterone

my wife has been prescribed cylogest to support her luteal phase, but we have just realised that we were not told when (or if) to stop using the pessaries. I'm assuming that she should stop when she gets the period and then start again 2 days after next ovulation. Does anyone know if that is right?

I am taking cylogest for the first time this month too. Your understanding on when to start and stop the pessaries sounds correct to me.

I have heard of some people finding their period didn't arrive until they stopped taking the pessaries, so I'm keeping an eye on my luteal phase, and if it reaches 16 or 17 days and I'm still getting negative pregnancy tests I'll probably stop the pessaries and allow my period to arrive. Other people say their period arrives despite the pessaries.

I hope the progesterone helps your wife. My luteal phase is usually 10-12 days, and this month with the progesterone I am now on my 14th day, so it's a new record for me!

Hugs,
Artoo

Hello Artoo

That's very helpful - thanks - my wife is now on day 13 but has never had a luteal phase this long either (normally 10-12 days too), so I think we'll do the same as you plan to.

Good luck!

afella
