Unable to detect ovulation

Looking for some advice please. Had bloods taken yesterday as we've been TTC for around a year now with no success as yet. I already have 2 daughters but my partner has none of his own.

Doctors surgery called today with the results as GP has asked to see me re the rubella result. She also mentioned that they were unable to detect if I am ovulating.

Now I'm freaking out with worry. Does anyone have any idea what this means?

Hi Missdee

Not really sure re the rubella thing, but don't freak out when they say that they are unable to detect if you are ovulating. It might just be a wonky blood sample that they need to retake for whatever reason, or they just need to do a different test. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are NOT ovulating.

Also this may well be a good thing. If there IS a problem then it's better that you know so they can treat it.

Good luck!

Was this a 21 day blood test?

SolomanDaisy · 23/01/2015 17:23

Solomondaisy what does this mean? I'm new to all this, I was very fortunate and had my dd's with no trouble at all.

It could mean a few different things. Did you time the test for seven days after you had ovulated? If it was taken on day 21 of your cycle and you dont ovulate on day 14, then it's just that the test was done at the wrong time. Or you could have had an anovulatory cycle, which apparently most women have around once a year. Or it could be that you aren't ovulating.
