Raised Prolactin

Has anyone else been diagnosed with high prolactin levels? Dr has been doing blood tests as I'm currently on cd115 (!) and the result has shown raised prolactin. He wants to repeat the test to make sure it's not just a one-off, but if the result is the same he is going to refer me to a clinic.

Did a bit of research and it sounds like it would be fairly easy to treat, but just wondered if anyone else has had this?

Yes me.. had it for years now. My levels are extremely high (4000+) and when I wanted to conceive both my dc they put me on dostinex and I had to go for regular appointments to monitor my levels and gradually I began having periods and ovulating as normal (took me 18 months to conceive dd and 13 months with ds).

I have got to a point now where we aren't bothered about having any more so I told the consultant I was happy to carry on having high prolactin and going back on the contraceptive pill (which also raises it) and I'll go back if I have any symptoms (dizziness, blurred vision etc). The consultant was happy with that.

It's not a problem if you get a good endocrinologist.

Oh that sounds awful. pretty sure he said my levels were slightly raised so not as extreme as you! Glad to hear you managed to conceive though :)

Hello, I have raised prolactin levels - at about 1500. This was in November. I have been referred to an endo but not had my appointment yet. Oddly I get regular periods and ovulate. Just cant get pregnant. My GP says this is almost definitely due to the Prolactin and is very easily treated. Good luck

Hi, my levels were around 900. 2 years of ttc including infertility treatment, nothing. 1 month of treatment for prolactin I got a bfp! Now 24 weeks pregnant. Think it was called quinagolide, good luck!
