Hi all

Am new to this site. Me and my partner have been trying to conceive but only for 6 weeks or so. We have both been taking vitamins in the hope these will help. Have been off birth control for 7 months but periods are still a little all over the place. I often seem to have a period 2 months to the exact day but some have been every 28 days.

Last month I had no period- not unusual as had had one month previous. Took a test but was negative. Period is due this Friday but yesterday started to get some very light bleeding. Most noticeable in the morning but only on tissue ( watery pink colour) followed by a very small amount of brown discharge. Yesterday I assumed my period was coming but this morning seems to be just the same. Not enough to wear a pad etc. Sorry if TMI. Has anyone had any experience of this? And if so when can I take a test? Do I need to wait until actual period is late or can I do one now? No other real symptoms other than lots of spots!! and feeling bloated. No real cramps that I usually get with periods

Hi clsf123

I felt like I was reading a post I must have written myself. I'm experiencing the same problems, also stopped the pill about 7 months ago and been ttc since then. What I have noticed is that the types of vitamins I'm taking seem to have a direct impact on my cycle for. Was taking 'seven seas' and was having 28 day cycle for a few months. I then started on pregnacare, I ended up with 37 day cycle and severe cramps mid way through. Stopped taking vitamins altogether after that and longest cycle was last one at 40 days. I started back on the seven seas at the beginning of this month in the hope it'll take me back to a 28 day cycle. The first day of my cycle was 2nd January, yesterday and today had some spotting. It's very dark brown and nothing I've experienced before, I've also had some light cramps. I initially thought it could possibly be implantation bleeding but I'm now doubtful when I think of the timing, I'd have to have ovulated early for it to be implantation. I'm now at the stage of being completely upset and worried that there's something wrong.
Anyway enough of my ranting! My advice to you would be to wait until Friday or the day after. Although some tests may pick it up there's a possibility hcg levels may still be too low to detect and trust me it becomes exhausting and upsetting to see a negative test time after time. Last thing you want to do is get a false negative.
I'll keep my fingers crossed you get a BFP! Keep us posted if you can. Best of luck x x
