Does this sound like a chemical pregnancy?..

So I got positive OPK on days CD 17/18 and got busy both of these days. That is quite late for ovulation for me, though I am still BF and cycles all over the place. They have been between 24 and 27 days last few months, though there was one which was 31 days which is the longest it has ever been. Luteal phase has generally been around10/11 days.

Yesterday (CD 30) I took a test with a FRER, and got a faint but definite positive. Today (CD 31) I jsut took another FRER and got nothing (I don't think - there was a mega faint line I could barely see but I think just evaporation line).

I have been feeling sick literally since a couple of days after ovulation (I posted about that on here - it seemed insane) but I sort of put it down to being in my head. But I still feel nauseous. In fact worse today. I had awful morning sickness until week 20 with both of them (worse with second).

So far no period. I have had some mild cramps / pains last few days, which sometimes I get before a period, sometimes not. I also had them during early pregnancy with both of my sons. With my first son I didn't get a positive test until the day of my missed period. With my second I got a positive test at 8 DPO (!).

If I was pregnant wouldn't I be getting a proper positive by now? I guess I could be 13 DPO which maybe isn't that much. But the +ve yesterday threw me.

This would be potential pregnancy and baby #3 for me. So I should know better than to be writing this sort of nonsense...

I'm gonna need to see a photo. ..

We're both tests Frers and from the same packet?

And no chemical unless your period comes. Your not out till your out!

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 14:35

Ha sadly the one I did yesterday is at home, and I'm at work (but it is definitely a positive, and actually not even that faint).

The one I did today was from a different packet. Does that make a difference?

I just tried to take a pic of the one from today but you really can't see anything. Can barely see it with naked eye which is why I think just an evap line.

If you've had a positive result, no matter how faint, you are pregnant. You can't be having chemical unless you bleed so best of luck AF stays away.
Good luck.

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 15:26

Ha that's true I guess. I have been feeling more crampy today so maybe is just super late period though.

I am going to nip into the loos and do another one. Good nutty behaviour...

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 15:40

Right. There is a super mega faint line. Can literally barely see it but there is definitely something there, slightly stronger than the one I did a few hours ago.

I probably need to reign in the crazy a bit now...

Number3cometome · 19/01/2015 16:18

Do one first thing tomorrow and post a pic!

Nevlet · 19/01/2015 16:20

do you have a picture of the test today biscuits

chasingtherainbow · 19/01/2015 16:35

Yes it does because the amount if dye in each batch varies. I had exactly the same thing. .. so one might have a super thick and dark like because there's lots of dye. .. or it could be thin and weak because there's not loads.

Look at the test line to see if they are different. X

Jbop · 19/01/2015 18:19

I'm in a similar situation as you.. Did two FRER tests last Thursday and Friday both with faint positives at about 14dpo, did another today (different make but apparently super sensitive Superdrug own brand) and seem to have an even fainter line Confused

Feeling crampy, bloated and boobs hurt, but not as sick as I did last few days so am slowly convincing myself this could be a chemical pregnancy... AF due today so going to try to leave it until the weekend before testing again (assuming AF doesn't make an appearance).

chasingtherainbow · 19/01/2015 19:04

Jbop I'd request a blood test at drs to check hcg. Mine started getting fainter and ended in mc. I don't mean to worry you.. but hcg tests are a sure way to know what's going on.

Jbop · 19/01/2015 20:20

Thanks - usually a few weeks waiting at DR's so I will book appt and see what happens in the meantime.

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:15

So here is a pic - top test is the one from yesterday (30 DPO). Middle one is the one from today at lunchtime, and bottom one is from this evening.

Does it make any difference how long between wees?!

Does this sound like a chemical pregnancy?..

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:18

Not sure how well that pic comes up on other people's phones but is blurry on mine - on my camera roll on my phone I can see the (faint) lines.

OP posts:
Jbop · 19/01/2015 21:19

Did you take the test yesterday in the morning when your wee is stronger?

I think I can see a line on all of them??

Obviously after 10 mins the results become invalid anyway.

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:20

PS Number3 I will certainly be doing one in the morning!

Thank goodness Boots are doing 3 for 2 on FR tests.... Confused

OP posts:
stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:22

The one yesterday was done at about midday, but after not having a wee for at least 4 hours. The one today which I did in the loos at work was at about 1:30, and the last one at about 6:45. Both after no wee for 3/4 hours.

Weird?

OP posts:
Schoolaroundthecorner · 19/01/2015 21:23

I can definitely see a line on the top one, think I see a line on the middle one but can't see anything on the bottom one. I think you should test again in the morning but I'd be hopeful you'd see a stronger line then.

stopeatingbiscuits · 19/01/2015 21:24

Good point about them being invalid after 10 mins...

OP posts:
chasingtherainbow · 19/01/2015 21:30

Stick to fmu if you can, if they're this faint it must be early so fmu will give you strongest lines x

Number3cometome · 20/01/2015 08:52

What happened!!

stopeatingbiscuits · 20/01/2015 11:00

So I did another one at about 6am and there was a super mega faint line. I seem to get stronger lines later in the day if last two days anything to go by. Maybe I'll do another one in a bit.

I am expecting period to come - though it is now later than it has ever been before - as surely at 13 DPO I should be testing positive?

OP posts:
Nevlet · 20/01/2015 11:04

Is there a picture from this morning?

Number3cometome · 20/01/2015 12:21

stopeatingbiscuit Why would you expect a period if you got a faint line?
Post a pic.

chasingtherainbow · 20/01/2015 14:18

If there is a faint line then it's still positive. Presumably you are worried that because it's faint it won't be successful? Hold off and test Saturday morning. Should be undoubtable then

stopeatingbiscuits · 20/01/2015 17:25

Hey - so I did one this morning at about 6am and was super mega faint line again. Could barely see it. I am going to do another one when I get home tonight (mental I know).

Yes Number3, just all a bit weird - would have thought a line 13 DPO would be stronger? I don't know. Will see when I get home in an hour or so.

Just expecting period as sort of thought faint line at this stage means no-go. But I am massively curious as to what is actually going on in there!
