Lady Q ovulation predictor microscope

Hello ladies,
I'm usually on the sleep board as my dd of 12 months was, until recently, not a very good sleeper at all.
Now that she's sleeping so well, we are thinking of #2. I purchased a Lady Q microscope on the internet for predicting ovulation, but I've found it to be quite a difficult item to use. Does anyone else have one and do they find it at all accurate or should I rather buy the OPK's used with urine?
The Lady Q uses salive on a tiny microscope and when you see 'ferning' it means you are fertile. However, I tested this morning and couldn't really see ferning, but my cm seems to be getting quite fertile?
Any advice?
