Am I being selfish

We have been ttc for 6 months and due to not showing ovulation I have been referred to a gyno at the local hospital on Wednesday. However AF had just made her dreaded appearance 2 weeks late( nothing like getting your hopes up)

But now I am worried because we have a once in a lifetime trip to the Caribbean in 6 weeks time which we booked thinking naively I would be pregnant, and I just know AF is going to wait until we are flying out to make her appearance next time ( my cycles are getting longer hence another reason for the referral)

My question is would I be being completely selfish to run a pack of the pill to delay my period so as to not ruin my holiday? Would this set back us ttc?

The right pill can improve pcos symptoms.
But like pp said you dont want it to affect results. Unless you are sure no chance ttc i would keep trying.
Also for some treatments nhs rules can say 2-3 yrs trying. Usually unexplained infertility though.
I think noresterone induces a bleed so you could take beforehand to have period before. But as pp said...

Out of interest, how do you know you've not been ovulating? (Genuine question...i don't think i have this cycle either due to tempreture being steady though having positive opks and ewcm).

I think you are right. They would be the best people to talk to. And it is only a couple of days away.

I've had blood tests done from the doctors that showed no ovulation present and my cycles are getting longer.

Doesn't help hubby has been told he has "super sperm" and should have no difficulties in getting me pregnant.

I think that might be the blood test I am waiting to have on first day(or so) of cycle. I'm also getting longer cycles (day 43 atm!)

I blame the pill for throwing my cycles out of whack. I'd only been on it 6 months and had been regular till then :( I'd urge you not to for that reason alone. At some point they may try and put you on clomid which might help with ovulation, but I don't think going back on the pill will be a good idea.

I know dizzy. Dying to tell every bloke he met but since no one knows we are ttc had to just tell me ( then felt rotten as it clearly meant the problem was me)

I was on microgynen?? For about 9 years before I came off last Christmas so am very reluctant to run even one pack but I'm desperate to have something good come out of not being pregnant and the swim up bar is going to have to do it.

It was progesterone levels that I was getting tested. I was led to believe healthy levels are around 30 I was 0.4

But was it done at the right time?
Was it day 21?
Or 7 days before the period started that cycle?
If it was day 21 of over 30 day cycle you may not have ovulated by then

I wish my gp would refer me! Going back tomorrow

You can take norethistetone to delay your period, you could ask your gp for it x

The (second) doctor was really helpful and explained they couldn't be sure exactly if it was the right days for testing but he was concerned enough to refer us
