The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Aw! Beakypup is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely not a Barry though!

happylass · 09/02/2015 11:16

Have to post and run, in work at the moment. Will catch up later.

Nolly sorry I missed your earlier post, when is your FC appointment? Sorry AF turned up too, what a rubbish day. Hugs and Flowers how are you doing overall?

Sorry to hear your news HB. Does a BFN definitely mean you are out or is there still hope? (forgive my ignorance of IVF)

In me, me, me news I'm pretty sure I felt ovulations cramps on Friday a whole 5 days later than expected. Naturally we had no chance to DTD on Friday or Saturday so that's another wasted month. (I blame the bloody Six Nations and DH beer consumption during the matches).

Pipbin · 09/02/2015 19:11

Sorry to hear that HB.

nolly3 · 09/02/2015 19:15

Hi all. How was it beaky?

Fc was ok thanks. They're great once you get in, it's getting the appointment that's the tricky part! Mr nolly is going abroad for three months over summer, but we're booked in for ivf in August. More blood tests to rule out clotting issues for me in the meantime.

How are you doing HB?

Minx what did they find at the lap which means no natural conception? I don't have any great knowledge of what the steps might be to get you through the closely guarded doors of the FC. But others may have a better idea.

Beaky hope it went ok today.

IVF was developed to get around the problem of blocked tubes. My thought Minx is that that consultant can't go promising people IVF left, right and centre so he shoved the word probable in front of it to avoid being too concrete. Take what I'm saying with a pinch of salt as I'm just making it up really - but that's my instinct.

The other fertility treatments usually offered on the NHS are cloud and IUI and neither of those would address the problem of blocked tubes.

WildflowerMarmalade · 09/02/2015 20:52

cloud? cloud? What type of treatment is that? I meant Clomid.

If all other signs are good; FSH, LH, AMH and there are no complicating factors, then blocked tubes should mean you have a good chance of success with IVF.

Minx, this was my 5th or 6th app. We've been trying for 2.5 years, had all our tests up north last year, moved south in August and had 3 apps at new fc. Mc at Nye delayed our referral for ivf.

Smidge001 · 09/02/2015 22:13

We got our day 3 results. Not as good as last time. We've got 1 eight-cell embie and 2 six-cell embies. Last time we had 4 eight-cell embies. I'm hoping because our egg collection was later this time maybe the embryos are about 3 hours behind the previous attempt so maybe they would be eight-cells at the same equivalent time? So I'm more concerned at the quantity rather than cell numbers... 3 at day three doesn't give much room for the normal drop off to day 5. Aargh! Hate not knowing! (I was secretly hoping for 3 blastos so we could plead for 2 put back and one in the freezer - now I'm not sure we'll even get 1 or 2)

Had a blood test this morning to check my hormones are ok for transfer tomorrow. Just have to wait for the call to let me know and to tell me 'what time is transfer time' so another count down can begin.

I feel a lot better now from EC. Think I might even be able to join in and wave some strong egg dividing pom poms myself!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Happy any symptoms?

Jelliebabe2 · 09/02/2015 22:25

HB. Sorry for your result. It's shitty but I'm hoping you're okay x

Beaky - Omgeeeee! Can we call him Beaky? Pup is gorgeous! Did you iui today?

Nolly! Great to hear you're booked in! August will be here before you know it!

Mminx - I really can't see what other treatment they could possibly offer you apart from ivf. I agree that he only out possible there so you can't say "but he promised!". Push for a plan of action at your next appointment.

Eeep scan today was great! Lining 10mm and clear triple stripe! Also decided yes to embroglue and no to embryo scope and to have 2 put back!

Bloody glue! Wish it was super glue. So I guess that's it. Just have to pack.... Can I take you berries with me? Im a bit scared and excited all at once.

beakybeak · 09/02/2015 22:31

Evening berries. IUI was fine the nurses were absolutely lovely too. thanks for asking and thanks for your support berries.

Nolly what did they say about the mc and your suspicion it had happened before? Glad to hear you're moving forward to IVF though.

HB how are you? Flowers

Smidge that's still good, I know you'd want tons to get as much chance as possible but fx you won't need any extra frosties after this round. Can you not insist on 2 back anyway? Also I read a quote the other day which I thought was canny, it's "comparison is the thief of joy". No two cycles will ever be the same (which is a good thing for me hopefully!). Fx for et for you and pom-poms are waving for good division!

Minx if yours is anything like mine, I had to go back to women's health for a round up and official referral to the IVF unit, then got an appointment with them within about a month (that was a year ago like). Your consultant may have said possibly IVF as if they only work in women's health and not an FC, they may not know what other options, if any, are available to you. As Wild says it'll be IVF.

Cuddling with beakypup tonight Grin

beakybeak · 09/02/2015 22:34

X post Jellie, exciting times!! Great news on your scan too Smile beakypup is sending good luck sniffs your way! You sound like you've made some great decisions there, fx for you!

Pipbin · 10/02/2015 00:15

Smidge. Remember, it only takes one.

Minx. I have the exact same problem. I had my lap and dye 18 months ago and have had 3 IVF cycles since.
I was told on the day that my tubes were blocked so it was IVF. I then went back to the hospital gyn unit and was given the option of different fertility clinics as there aren't any in our county.
From there it was into the hands of the FC and the only thing the NHS had to do with it was to pony up the money.

tigerdog · 10/02/2015 09:02

smidge it only takes one as the others have said. Fingers crossed for you.

glad the IUI was ok beaky and that beaky pup is there to look after you! So cute.

jellie it all sounds very exciting. Hope you're feeling prepared and don't worry we're all here with you!!

nolly glad the appointment was ok. August will be here before you know it. We delayed IVF by several months and now it is less 4 weeks until we kick off. Shock

minx he may have just meant Ivf vs icsi, but I wouldn't worry as they'll take you through options and funding and as others have said, blocked tubes are something ivf is designed to overcome.

happy hope you're hanging in there!

hb hope you're ok Flowers

tammy grr to wasted months!

wild I'm being forgetful and I can't remember where you are in your IVF plans at the moment?

Does anyone here suffer from ibs? Especially around af? Im really suffering from terrible af pains today coupled with a very sorry stomach indeed. I'm sure theres a link to my fertility issues too Sad woe is me!

Smidge001 · 10/02/2015 12:15

Not ibs Tiger but I do usually find things a bit 'looser' as AF arrives.

But talking about stomachs, mine is completely huge. I actually look about 4 months pregnant who am I kidding I have no idea what that actually looks like, but definitely a pot belly. At first we just assumed it must be swelling from the egg collection, but it's just not going down. My tummy actually feels quite firm and there is no way I can just breath in to make it go flat (which I used to be able to do, honest!). I don't actually feel bloated as such, what with all the water I'm drinking, but MrSmidge and I now wonder if it's a side effect of the prednisolone. Have any of the berries experienced this? It's SO noticeable!

beakybeak · 10/02/2015 12:41

Oo can't help I'm afraid Smidge but it sounds sore!

Tiger yes, it's awful eh but they must be linked I reckon.

Pip how are you doing?

Smidge001 · 10/02/2015 13:03

To be fair beaky it doesn't feel uncomfortable as such, it just looks so odd!

HampshireBlues · 10/02/2015 14:10

Smidge it could be the steroids so it may be worth discussing with the FC. Another consideration is being a little constipated (especially if you are having the cyclogest suppositories). Hope it settles down.

Beaky glad the IUI went ok and that the nurses were supportive.

barkingtreefrog · 10/02/2015 19:51

I've been awol for the entire thread as I've had my head in the sand over the iui and the number of fellow berries going through treatment/pimping at the same time was bringing back too many memories of the previous 2 clusterdiffs I was part of (neither of which obviously had a happy ending). But it's over now, so I can start following what everyone else is doing again! Bfn for me, but if it wasn't going to end in a baby I'd rather get a bfn than go through another mc clutching desperately at the silver lining

Can't possibly respond to everything from the last 775 posts, so apologies from the start!

beaky so sorry the IVF didn't go to plan, but excellent that they did iui so it wasn't all wasted, and that it didn't count as your ivf allocation (I think it would have done here, that's exactly what happened to my friend - IVF didn't produce enough eggs so they swapped it to iui. They were then looking at private ivf options when she got a surprise bfp and now has a healthy baby).
SQUEEEEeeeeeee!!! Just seen the photo of beakypup !!!!! Grin

hb I'm so sorry it was a bfn. It stinks.

pip how are you doing?

jellie everything crossed!!

happy everything crossed for you too!!

smidge I'm not sure I have anything left to cross so I'm throwing poms poms in the air for you instead!

minx well done for staying away from dr google. Not easy.

wild cloud sounds a lot nicer than clomid Wink.

nolly glad they're doing some tests to rule things out.

tiger I would be very interested in the outcome of your quest to get Mr T quitting the alcohol. Mr B also thinks my suggestion of him quitting until the IVF is ridiculous as it 'won't make any difference'. He even threw it back in my face, telling me if I was going to start on that silliness then I should think about my sugar intake (which, for the record, is about 200% better than it used to be). My thoughts are more along the lines of 'this is our very, very last chance, surely we want to throw absolutely everything at it' and how come you can quit for 2 months for training reasons, you can do dry january, but you can't do this for us despite everything I've given up over the last 3+ years for ttc while your life has ticked along as usual
