The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Paw squeeze from me hb, it's tough. You have been through a lot but don't lose hope my lovely xx

lol happy!

lumen · 02/02/2015 18:18

How did you get on happy?

HampshireBlues · 02/02/2015 19:36

Thank you for the virtual hugs, very much needed. today has been a long and a stressful day precipitated by very little sleep as the hound is not very well. I have spent most of the day at the vets in floods of tears and all I could do was apologies to the staff for being an emotional gibbering wreck. Work have been amazing so have worked from home today and they have said that I can take the dog in on Wednesday as work is halfway to the specialists that we need to see. In the meantime the dog is doped out on medication that isn't technically licensed for use in canines! More forms to sign and I'm guessing a very expensive vet bill at the end. I am still really tearful this evening (and look a wreck) but with a little perspective I guess it is to be expected with everything going on. I guess the give away will be if the boobs become a little less tender over the next few days.

Has anyone heard from Happy?
How was the infusion and doc Simdge?

Pipbin · 02/02/2015 20:27

I hope you were all watching University Challenge. There was a Berry question.

Question: What is the name of the yellow mass left on the ovary after ovulation?

Jelliebabe2 · 02/02/2015 20:35

Oh HB! I'm a bit like that on the 2ww all okay all fine then blam tears. All them blimmin hormones then the pooch being poorly and all sorts of stress and the worry of ivf and its very quickly too much... Find a relaxation track on the puter or on your phone and take the time to use it. The Zita west post transfer one was good. I'm going to use again this time.

Happy hope all went super fabulously stupendously brilliant today!

How everyone else I'd okay! I have read it all but can't refer back on my tablet. Scan of doom tomorrow so probably an update tomorrow. Confused

HampshireBlues · 02/02/2015 21:47

Good luck for tomorrow Jellie

HampshireBlues · 02/02/2015 21:48

Any news from Happy or Smidge?

beakybeak · 02/02/2015 22:28

Tiger congrats to Mr tiger! Does that mean he gets to relocate too if he takes it? Shame he didn't get his preferred one, but that happened to me previously and it worked out really well in the end. Hope you are managing with the commuting ok, and aren't too exhausted! I totally miss you on here now you're uber busy Smile

Gosh HB what a time you're having, I was beside myself and in floods of tears when my puppy was poorly, never mind that you are in the midst of IVF etc, you are doing fabulously as you are, don't worry about being emotional. Hugs and Flowers and u hope your little pooch is better very soon. Still crossing all my fingers and toes for you.

Happy did everything go well today? Pompoms are at the ready for you!

Gill any sign of the surge?

pip no way, was that an actual question? We could definitely field a team on UC if so Grin

Smidge how did you get on?

Jellie very best of berry luck to you tomorrow. Let us know how you get on!

I had the delightful dildocam today, they were a bit worried as there are only around 5 follies and they are under 10mm except one which is 12, none of which is apparently great. Anyway they've increased my dosage of Merional and I'm back Friday for another dildocam. If it's still not good they may cancel the cycle as they say you can't stim for more than 12 days. Eek. Berries do a bit of pompoming for me please!

happylass · 02/02/2015 22:39

Evening all. So sorry to hear about your pooch HB. Really not what you need at the moment. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.
All went well with ET. 2 blasts safely on board. Apparently things have changed since our last cycle (all of 4 months ago!) and the FC now have to recommend how many to put back (they didn't give 2 hoots last time!). The government are trying to reduce the number of multiple births from IVF in order to save money reduce health risks. Criteria are age, AMH and past failed cycles. Although I'm knocking 37 36, my AMH isn't great and we've had a failed cycle they still recommended that we put one back. However, after a lengthy discussion we decided on 2. Hope we made the right choice! Had a bit of a wobble afterwards when the nurse was banging on about how perfect everything was and how good our chances are because we 'make lovely embryos'. Wanted to say 'but I want us to make lovely babies' but what I actually did was start blubbing, flat on my back, still in theatre, still in my nightie Blush
Jellie hope everything goes well with your scan tomorrow.
Pip love that TTC questions are appearing on UC!
Beaky any news?

OP posts:
happylass · 02/02/2015 22:45

Ah cross post Beaky. Sorry to hear your scan wasn't more positive but try not to get too disheartened - things can change very quickly follicle wise, as I learnt this cycle. Also on my first scan (after 6 days of stimms) my biggest follicle was only 12 or 13 and my smallest 5. I stimmed for 13 and a bit days and I was on pretty much the maximum dose. Keep the faith my lovely - we're all waving those pom poms for you!

OP posts:
Smidge001 · 02/02/2015 23:01

beaky really? Can't stim for more than 12 days? I hadn't heard that. My sheet of paper with dates and dosages and boxes to tick for bloods and scans goes up to 15 days so I always thought that was within standard. My puregon only has 12 doses in it mind you (officially, though there looks to be enough extra in the cartridges to manage an easy 13th) but I just assumed they'd give out more if needed. In fact I'm pretty sure they did say that once back in the midsts of round 1. Guess it depends on the drug and doses though. Good luck!!

My day 10 scan yesterday still showed most follies being under 10mm so AliG has said to keep going and I'll have another scan and bloods done tomorrow, expecting to trigger on weds or Thursday nights for a fri/sat egg collection. In fact, if I don't trigger til Thursday that will actually be day 13 of stimming for me. She said that they get a lot of variability in the scan size results so not to worry that it looks as if mine haven't changed much (some actually smaller!) than last Thursday. Was glad she said that as I had been a bit worried during the dildocamming.

So I had scan and bloods done first thing on Monday, then went up to their day surgery for the intralipid infusion. Wasn't too bad really. Annoying that I ended up with blood taken from both arms as I hadn't realised I could have had the blood test done at the same time as the intralipid, (what with them having inserted a cannula into the vein and all, doh!!) but that was my fault for not quite grasping the point of the nurses voicemail on my phone the day before

The needle was a bit thicker than normal as it had to cope with the thick white fatty substance but AliG put it in quite deftly so not a problem. They use a massive syringe thing (2 of them actually - they swap the empty one over part way through) full of this white fatty substance and hook it up to a machine that slowly squeezes it down the tube and into your blood stream. Couldn't feel it really though, and was given peppermint tea and raisin toast (Aussie staple - a sliced loaf style of toasted teacakes, yum) and read my book, so not a bad morning in the scheme of things. Oh, and they checked blood pressure and my temperature throughout, in case I had an allergic reaction to egg/soy. The thermometer was a weird laser gun thing that they just point at your forehead! v odd - didn't even touch the skin so I have no idea how it works.

Smidge001 · 02/02/2015 23:13

Cross post happy. Congrats on being pupo!! 2 back in, you must be pleased with that decision.. My clinic still reckons only 1. Though I'm wondering if they might change that if this attempt doesn't work but it will, right? I think MrSmidge and I would both go for 2 if we were given the option. and had enough blastos!

beaky not sure my post was very clear on the follie size thing.

My Day 6 scan showed 4 at 11mm and 2 at 10mm.
My Day 10 scan showed 1 at 13mm, 2 at 10mm and a few at 7-9mm. So apart from 1 follie the rest appear to have shrunk!

But AliG reckons it's just variability from the different machines, different sonographers, and position/access to a good view of the ovaries. So I doubt very much that your cycle will get cancelled, especially if they are upping your dose.

Jellie good luck with the doom scan!

HB can't the over emotional thing be a good sign too??? PUPO remember.

happylass · 02/02/2015 23:26

Smidge can you go against the clinic's recommendation? When I said lengthy discussion I meant between me and DH. The FC recommended 1, but it is just that (and obviously something that's been imposed on them recently as they weren't bothered last time) so it's ultimately our decision. Not sure what happens with the NHS though?
Beaky I'm sure someone (Yorkie?) stimmed for about 17 days. I've never heard of the 12 day thing either

OP posts:
beakybeak · 02/02/2015 23:31

Happy PUPO!! Woop fx! Thanks for the advice, I'm day 5 of stims and they sounds similar to your follies size wise so I feel quite reassured. Re the single transfer thing, I think they've all been targeted to achieve a lower number of singletons but espnthe NHS - my clinic gave me info on that at the open evening, we are the same in that your age, how well you respond etc determines how many go back but they are supposed to be very strict on one only in your first cycle. My consultant did indicate there was a tiny bit of leeway but we will see. I'd go for two if possible.

Smidge yeah that's what the nurse said - I did wonder though as I'm sure others have stimmed longer. Dh said afterwards that he heard them say there was a hemorrhage too which must be the cyst Confused hope that doesn't cause an issue. I've not been able to feel much so far either and can usually "feel" my ovaries anyway! Thanks for the reassurance too, you both have made me feel much more positive. Glad your infusion went well and fx for the next scan. We will only be a few days apart for EC/ET I think!

WildflowerMarmalade · 03/02/2015 05:42

Beaky as the others have said, they can't really know at this point how the follies will grow. Pease don't stress. Pompoming for you.

Happy really glad it all went well.

Smidge raisin toast and peppermint tea? I am so jealous.

HampshireBlues · 03/02/2015 08:19

Morning all,

Happy congratulations on being PUPO and well done on convincing the FC to put two back. Ours have a similar criteria to yours so when they suggested me having two back I was shocked. Hope the tww is bearable.

Beaky slow and steady wins the day! From my understanding scanning is a fine art so some variability between scans and scanners is to be expected. Am keeping everything crossed for good news at your next scan.

Smidge glad that you are getting there and that your infusion went well yesterday. I have to say I am also pleasantly surprised by how much contact you get with your consultant. I only saw mine during this cycle because he happened to be the consultant on for EC. I also love the idea of peppermint tea with a toasted tea cake; sounds like heaven!

Thank you for the words of wisdom, yesterday was such a stressful day especially with the dog. We are off to see a specialist tomorrow so hopefully we can find out what is wrong with him. He just looks so pathetic and I'll at the moment. I know that emotions are all over the place with hormones etc. and it isn't over until the fat lady sings! Still emotional today (which is different from last time as that was only for the day) so who knows?

Smidge001 · 03/02/2015 12:20

lumen are you due some immune test results?

Jelliebabe2 · 03/02/2015 20:37

Ha! HB I've not even warmed up yet!

Beaky! Slow and steady wins the race! You'll get there! I've never heard the 12 day thing either but then I Dont know everything (no really!). Don't fret

Smidge! Sound nearly relaxing! Wish my clinic would bring me breakfasts!

As for me! Scan went really well! Lining is thin and NO CYST'S! Hurrah Grin. So we are all good to go! I've now got to start burserelin injections and progynova and prednisolone. Eeeeek!

We've just booked our flights and the hotels for Prague. Just the train and Vienna hotel to sort now! Squeeeee.

You won't believe it my colleague (mentioned twice above) just sorting out which clinic to go to is pregnant! Last week seeing clinics, took a test Sunday as she felt off and came up positive! We spent lunch just grinning and clapping our hands gleefully at her fufc (I had to explain it!). Our manager will shit his pants if I get pregnant too! Lol. Here's hoping he has spare pants!

HampshireBlues · 03/02/2015 20:46

Yay Jellie you can get on the road to a BFP! Hurrah to disappearing cysts! Sounds like things are coming together nicely! Sorry if I've missed it, but when are you off to Prague? LOL at the idea of your boss having two members of staff being pg so close together and such good news about the FUFC.

lumen · 03/02/2015 21:13

Good news jellie

Great memory smidge, although I forgot to ask how I will get the results so I am planning on waiting a week and then calling the nurses hotline.

Still willing on BFPs for you lot cycling Grin

Jelliebabe2 · 03/02/2015 21:19

HB we're flying out next Wednesday! One more scan Moinday to check my lining but that's it! Grin

beakybeak · 03/02/2015 22:19

Yey Jellie! So happy for you finally getting underway and no cysts! Grin also how exciting for your rl friend, another fufc woohoo. How lovely if the pair of you can go through it all together.

lumen would you not ring now anyway just to check? Smile

HB I hope the specialist appointment for your puppy goes well tomorrow. How are you feeling today?

Smidge any news on expected EC yet? I double checked my plan and it goes up to potential 13 days stimming but I think the reason I can't go past 12 is because my clinic don't open weekends and stimming longer would push ET to the weekend. So not an actual health thing I think.

Wild what's happening with you?

I am fretting a little that things won't be looking good enough by Friday. I know it's daft worrying about something I have no control over lol. Need to have a word with myself!

Anyway hope everyone else is doing ok!

WildflowerMarmalade · 03/02/2015 22:57

Yay for Jellie's no show cysts! At last you are on your way. Does your clinic know that you are a dirty chick? Wink

Beaky will you get a scan between now and Friday at all? Or do you have to anxiously wait? I'm still pompoming madly over here. . And I second your impatient face aimed at Lumen

HB I'm really sorry that you have been feeling so down and also about the news of your little hound. I hope the specialist is good. So worrying on top of everything else.

I seem to be on track to start stimming sometime at the end of next week. FX.

Really tired now so it must be bedtime. Gill hope you are bearing up under early starts.

beakybeak · 03/02/2015 23:05

Thanks for the high kicks Wild they have impressed me no end Grin
Excellent news that you start stimming soon too! Clusterdiff! Clusterdiff!

happylass · 04/02/2015 10:48

Great news Jellie. Knew you were having DE but didn't realise you were going to Prague for it. Was reading a thread about treatment in Prague a few days ago - nothing but amazing things said about it! Exciting times! We also had a very naughty Berry a while back who got diffed after treatment in Prague. Can't remember if she was DE though.
HB how's the pooch? Hope all is well.
Wild are you short or long protocol?
Beaky hope you're doing ok - still shaking those pom poms for you!
Gil any sign of that surge yet?
