The bleeding was minimal Happy, pretty light for 1-2 days max so you should be fine for Saturday.

beakybeak · 05/01/2015 00:01

Thanks Happy! I've set everything out and am as prepared as I can be so hopefully it will all go ok!

lumen · 05/01/2015 06:24

Best of luck with the injection beaky and with your lap wild.

minx I have an hours commute to work but I get in for 7am which means i can leave earlier and be home by 5.30pm

Food prep sounds good happy, I made a soup for this weeks lunches and a baked chicken curry last night to put in the freezer for next week. I know that my cold has impaired my sense of smell and taste as my eyes were watering when dealing with the onions but I couldn't smell anything and there was no point trying to taste it. Ah well it will be a surprise next week.

All this talk of the scratch has made me cross my legs! My friend had one on her cycle and she said it was ok. Just take the painkillers before and after.

On the train on the way in to work after 18 days off Confused

Pipbin · 05/01/2015 07:51

Good luck injecting today Beaky. They really aren't that bad.

beakybeak · 05/01/2015 08:44

Thanks for the good lucks berries! All done now! Not too bad but was painful towards the end and felt like there was still a bit of liquid in the needle Confused also to make sure there was no air in it I pushed the liquid up to the top (after flicking for air bubbles) but it only showed 0.45 then! Not sure if this is right, any thoughts berries?

tigerdog · 05/01/2015 09:05

Well done beaky! First one out of the way and you'll be a pro in no time!

Good luck today minx!

Hope you're not too tired today lumen.

Hope you all have a good Monday!

thanks for all the lovely messages and offers to chat. We had a pretty depressing NY as you can imagine, especialyl as with friends in a different country. MC is 'faux-couche- in french, we now know. Sigh. We had a day or two on our own going to walks just wandering around and crying in the middle of no where, which seems to have worn off now thank god. Mr nol says he is so glad we had that week and it was the most exciting thing, and he wouldn't change it for anything. I am sure he's right but it just makes me cry when he says so. Ah well. Back to the FC i suppose. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I don't normally test (only did so because christmas so booze) so I have a suspicion that this has happened 2-3 times now. extra crushing.

anyway - just wanted to say thanks, and have been thinking of you all. Makes really such a difference to have support from you all - I don't know what I'd do without you.

beakybeak · 05/01/2015 10:51

Thanks guys. minx boo, that's a bit rubbish but yes at least it wasn't through not calling. Fx they get you in ASAP - remind them it needs done before your follow up appointment.

Nolly what an awful new year. Hopefully things will only improve for you this year. I'm not a tester either but it is an interesting (but awful) point you make that you think this could have happened before. Do you think you would test more regularly now? Hugs and Flowers my lovely.

Gillster · 05/01/2015 13:10

Beaky when you are preparing your injection you should draw up a little more liquid than you need so that when you get rid of the air you will be injecting the correct amount.

Minx how bloody annoying! Hope they can offer you an alternative date soon.

Nolly so sorry you've had to go through this. If sounds like last week was a good step forward in the grieving process for you and your DH. Did you experience symptoms during the 2ww which suggest that this may have happened before?

Back at work, the day is going so slow...

tigerdog · 05/01/2015 15:46

aw, nolly that is so sad. I can feel myself welling up a bit. Big hugs to you and Mr Nol.

minx that is very annoying, so many hospitals are under a lot of pressure at the moment and there isn't much they can do. What I do know is that, any hospital that cancels an operation for non-clinical reasons is obliged to give a revised date within 28 days, so hopefully you'll have one very shortly.

slow work day here too gill....

greatbigbushybeard · 05/01/2015 20:43

Oh nolly your post made me well up. It's really shit. I kinda know what your husband means. It doesn't matter that it was for a short time, it was still your baby and you had hopes and dreams for it that you let grow when you get that good news and when you get bad news it's all dashed & it's a real sense of loss. It seems really cruel to let yourself believe for that short space of time to then suddenly have it whipped away from you. It 's good to have had that time away with one another. I think going for walks etc can be really healing. The numb, punched in the stomach feeling is awful. I was on summer hols when mine happened and a few days later we went away on a pre planned hol to devon. It was lovely but tinged with sadness, think we were like crutches for each other. Also I had to accept our first little bean wasn't meant to be. It has made it easier to cope now that I am pg again but it was a difficult couple of months. I found the emotional toll a lot to deal with. It was like I had lost my resilience and small things would knock the stuffing out of me. If you want to talk just PM me. X x x

minx what a bummer it's been cancelled. Interesting what tiger said re how quickly they should rebook you.

beaky well done on first injection. I was such a wuss with my first one!!

beakybeak · 06/01/2015 09:15

Morning berries, hope everyone is ok and not too depressed being back at work. Our heating is broken (at work) so I've been sitting in my coat since yesterday and it's bloody freezing.

Gil I tried your tip this morning, and it worked much better, thanks. Did you find you usually had a bit left over in the tip afterwards? I suppose they must take that into account though Confused

Gillster · 06/01/2015 15:11

Beaky, glad the injecting worked slightly better this morning. There will be a negligible amount left in the tip of the needle but it will be minuscule so don't worry about it. This would apply to any injection with a syringe as the plunger doesn't go right down to the tip of the needle. You'll be an old hand at this in no time Grin

FeatherFeather11 · 06/01/2015 15:15

Hello all,
Hope you're all well and just wanted to let those of you having treatment at the moment that I'm wishing you all the Berrie luck in the world right now.

nolly your post made me well up and I can totally empathise: Mr Feather and I were going through a similar thing last November and I'll never forget walking through the streets of Rome, both of us holding hands and quietly shedding tears. I know that it doesn't feel it right now bit it does get better, that feeling. I hope you're both being kind to yourselves and that you get a sticky bfp soon. Flowers

I've just had a major. Lear out of the bathroom cupboards and I have a pack of 8x IC pregnancy tests, a pack of 12 x IC ovulation tests and a still-sealed jar of 'Viridian Folic Acid with DHA' (exp 4/2016) going spare to anyone who wants them. Just pm me your address and I'll have them in tomorrow's post for you.

Berries: I really, really hope 2015 is your year. You were such an amazing support network when I was on this thread for just over 1.5 years and I will never forget all your kindnesses. I'm keeping an out out on here for all your news and wishing you all the best. The chopper awaits you all. xx

FeatherFeather11 · 06/01/2015 15:55

Ps. Bits now gone. Will post if I find anything else in the clear-out.

Pipbin · 06/01/2015 20:47

Not known for their bargain prices but I noticed that in Waitrose you can buy two pregnancy tests for £4.

Gillster · 06/01/2015 22:28

Good luck for tomorrow Happy. Is your scratch in the morning or afternoon? Hope it's early so you can get it out of the way and not worry too much.

beakybeak · 06/01/2015 22:39

Thanks Gil, it's good to have the reassurance.

Feather nice to see you and thanks for the good luck vibes! Good luck to you for your imminent arrival Grin

Happy good luck for the scratch tomorrow, I hope it isn't too uncomfortable for you.

lumen · 07/01/2015 09:17

Hope scratch goes ok today happy

Also hoping all the stabbing ladies are doing ok, anyone sniffing for their down regging?

Had appointment letter through yesterday for going back to fertility part of hospital in two weeks. This is what I requested to try and get some investigations done on the nhs as only ever had bloods tested, nothing else. Any wise berry advice would be appreciated on what I should ask for? I'm thinking checking tubes and uterus, and bloods to do basic immunes?

tigerdog · 07/01/2015 10:22

Good luck for the scratch happy and hope it's not too painful. All us berrys are as hard as nails these days!

lumen I had a hsg to check tubes and also hysteroscopy and laparascopy as I have heavy painful periods and they wanted to rule out endometriosis (which I didn't have). Was also advised to have AMH as although FSH and LH results were good, it might provide more insight prior to ivf. I also did a home Vit D test, as zita west talks about Vit d deficiency (also didn't have an issue). I also had a dildocam as part of heavy periods investigation but nothing of note reported (no cysts etc). The only thing l've learnt is that I have a uterus with a small dip at the top which isn't supposed to be a factor in infertlity. Not sure what else there is to test for, apart from immune issues...

tigerdog · 07/01/2015 10:24

Waves to feather hope you are doing well! Nice to hear from you x

beakybeak · 07/01/2015 10:45

Good luck Happy let us know how it goes!

lumen I think definitely a lap, they can check for endo (which may or may not have symptoms but does affect fertility) and have a really good look about(!) I had a HSG to check tubes were clear, dildocam to check the situation in the uterus which identified adenomyosis and cysts, but I'd think they would be picked up during scanning for your cycle. Def more up to date blood tests as these things change anyway. I would ask for AMH too as Tiger says - my FC weren't keen when I asked about it and it would have slowed my IVF cycle so I didn't in the end. Maybe thyroid too if that's not part of the standard test. Not sure if you would get immune testing without paying but it's definitely worth a try.

Tiger how's your last week going? Any signs of AF or not? FUNJ

happylass · 07/01/2015 14:59

Thanks for all the good luck wishes Berries. Scratch done and all good. Was absolutely fine. Was expecting a really sharp pain but was more like a strong cramp. DH was far worse than me. When the nurse showed us what she was going to use to do the scratch he got up and said "I think I'll wait outside". He is such a wuss!
Lumen I just had a HSG and AMH plus all the standard bloods. I would push for whatever you think you need though.
Beaky hope the stabbing is going well.

Glad scratch was ok happy. Had to laugh at your dh's reaction! Can you imagine if they had to go through all the physical stuff?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Have my AMH as took part in research study at my FC. Was a disappointing 15.9 Hmm

This week is dragging but the healthy food and more exercise plan is still on track Smile
