Thanks guys.

Lulu, it's probably that but I am rubbish at spelling! Grin

It's just the bloody poo I'm worried about. Did your ds have tht cupcake?

Midwife has said I can have an appt at the hospital Friday if I'm worried so I will do that if he's still got the runs. But I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time as no one seems worried at all

Cupcake92 · 14/01/2015 19:30

Yes he had awful poos too. Both ends he was going at it! Was awful :(
Another name for it is the rotavirus and the babies get an vaccine at 8 and 12 weeks. DS had both vaccines and still got it.
As long as u give DS little and often itll stop him being dehydrated and his stomach will get chance to repair etc

When did the blood stop?

Problem is I was told I can't feed him more than every 3 hours Confused sometimes he goes 2 and a half but sometimes he will only have 3
-4 oz and sometimes he has 5oz.

And I thought the worry would stop once he was here! Hmm

Cupcake92 · 14/01/2015 20:06

Once he was able to keep enough fluid down it stopped ducky. Little and often till he's feeling better then back to every 3 hours. His tummy will need chance to repair before it can handle normal feeds

Ducky23 · 14/01/2015 20:22

Il try that, most the time he goes himself to 2/3 hours.

Am going to speak to the HV too tomorrow as I've heard they are the best people to speak to in this situation and there the one thing I haven't tried.

SIL has been here today and DS behaved beautifully all day until tea time when he started screaming and was inconsolable. DH was holding him and all of a sudden he did a largeburp (DS not DH) and sicked up milk onto DH's tea! He stopped crying then but DH had to leave his tea.

SIL thought DS was lovely. She said it is all making her feel broody. She is still seeing the boyfriend so you never know. She asked me about the birth and I heard myself say 'It wasn't too bad and you forget about the pain once you see your baby' Cliche or what? But it is true. It really doesn't seem too bad now. DH said I swore at him a good bit at the end just before DS arived. I was a bit high on gas and air by then I think.

She has gone home now. DH is marking and I am sitting on the sofa with DS snoozing in his chair.

LuluJakey1 · 14/01/2015 20:41

I do wonder if babies make wind worse by swallowing air when they scream. Is that possible? I am sure DS was swallowing air when he was screaming so much.

LuluJakey1 · 14/01/2015 20:43

Tori- is the baby big? It looks big on there.
They do funny things on scans. DS kept his thumb in his mouth for ages on one of ours.

LuluJakey1 · 14/01/2015 20:44

You can see all his little toes really clearly and his button nose! Smile Or hers. Do you know which?

Good idea ducky :) hope the HV can help!

Lulu sounds like uve all had a good day :) bet SIL didn't want to leave! And uh oh for DS throwing up in DH's dinner! :O

Tori that is an amazing 20 week svan pic! Glad all was good :)!

I've just went to check on DS and as ive come down the stairs ive slipped and fell down :( ive banged my arm and have a friction burn on it and really hurt my toe. My foot has pins and needles in it now, is that normal?? :s :s

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 14/01/2015 22:17

If you banged a bit of your foot whete a nerve was close to the surface, yes. If it is still like that tomorrow might be worth getting it checked incase you have trapped a nerve Cupcake.

I have stopped bleeding I think - well none today anyway. Don't know if it might start again.

Ducky23 · 14/01/2015 23:07

I've stopped bleeding today! Shock Glad SIL had a nice time lulu, wonder if youl get a niece or nephew!!! I'm glad DH left his dinner haha Grin

Ohhh cupcake I had that once but it just wore off eventually. Hope it does that for you!

Glad the scan went well tori Grin are you feeling any better sickness wise?

Well ds did a bloody poo again and I took a pic and sent it to the midwife who showed it to a few other midwifes and they still think intolerance. Have been told I can have another consultant appt tomorrow or Friday if I want. Ds seems loads happier in himself ATM, still not 100% but he's getting there. It's just so confusing because it's like everyone I have seen has told me something different

LuluJakey1 · 14/01/2015 23:45

If he is feeding and happier in himself, I would give him until Friday. The bowel produces bloody mucus because the cells lining it are irritated and it is trying to protect itself. It needs time to settle down. (I know this because I once had acute pancreatitis which caused havoc with my whole digestive system for months). Sometimes they can give anti-inflammatories for it which slow down the reproduction of bowel lining cells and that helps. I don't know if they could give them to babies though. Once it starts to settle it usually just keeps going and gets better quite quickly. If you are worried though, ask to see a specialist tomorrow Ducky. I would. Would DH pay? You said he is very well off and I bet you could see someone instantly but it might cost a few hundred pounds.

Ducky23 · 15/01/2015 06:58

He seems happier in himself and is feeding fine. H isn't well off but his family is, but let put it this way, they didn't get rich from being generous. They're so tight! Confused

Will see how he goes today.

His last few poos have looked normalish and haven't had any blood in (touch wood) Smile

LuluJakey1 · 15/01/2015 07:28

That sounds better Ducky. DS has slept for 4 hrs almost. He has just had his feed and is fast asleep again on thebed while I have a cup of tea- brought up by DH as he left for work Grin

Cupcake92 · 15/01/2015 08:05

No pins and needles today lol! Grin just a bruised foot!
DS was awake at 3am because we had very strong winds that woke him up and he was a bit scared bless him. We had one of the plastic garden chairs fly at the patio doors!

Glad uve stopped bleeding Lulu! :) was it quite bad for u or was it alright?

And Ducky glad Uve also stopped bleeding ! Urs seems to trick most of the time doesn't it? And glad DS seems to be getting better :) let's hope from now on he just keeps getting Better and better! :)

Lovely picture Tori, bet you are pleased to hit this milestone (I know I was).

Isn't that funny that you both stopped bleeding the same day, yet gave birth at very different times. I suppose each person is different, I hope I stop bleeding quickly as i can't stand sanitary pads (as you may rememeber).

Glad your foots better today Cupcake, how's things going with DH now?

Ducky23 · 15/01/2015 09:14

I hate them too siarie!! Confused But I brought SO many of them Shock I found the slim maternity towels were the most comfortable. I wasn't expecting to bleed that long, I only had a week with dd!

Well we have a consultant appt today as people still think it's a milk intolerance. Will see what happens Confused

Cupcake92 · 15/01/2015 10:52

I am the opposite I hate tampons, never been able to get along with them and always had a fear (very silly I know!) that the string would break and its be stuck in there for good haha Grin

Hope the consultant appt goes well Ducky! Let us know.

OP posts:
Siarie · 15/01/2015 11:51

When I first tried tampons it was tricky to get used to them but once they are inserted properly you can't feel them.

I like that everything is internal where as back when I had AF I tended to flood from long periods of sitting then standing. Then it feels like wearing a nappy and you have that wet feeling. Oh I don't like it! I always ended up with it not absorbing quickly enough and leakage (even with the heavy flow pads).

I used pads for years until tampons but I wouldn't have gone back once I switched.

Siarie · 15/01/2015 11:57

Which maternity towel brand did you buy Ducky? I'll need to buy some at some point. I was hoping to just get away with a slim non maternity type one

Ducky23 · 15/01/2015 12:14

I thought that siarie but I didn't get away with it!

My mom had to do an emergency run for loads of boots maternity ones, then eventually I tried boots slim ones but they felt like cardboard Confused so I got asda little angels slim maternity towels and they were amazing compared to the boots ones! Would definitely recommend them! I couldn't use any normal sanitary towels/panty liners as they are all perfumed and it hurt my stitches so much!

Well just seen him, he said he has absolutely no doubt that it is the milk intolerance. He has given prescription formula and has a repeat appt with the consultant in 3 months where I will need to be referred to a dietitian as it will affect his weaning.

Feel much better now Smile

Cupcake92 · 15/01/2015 12:27

Brilliant Ducky!! So glad they finally listened!! Woo! DS can finally get better now :) onwards and upwards :)
