Keep going with the dr ducky . My friends baby who had reflux kept getting turned away by patronising drs who thought as a ftm she was over reacting and they kept say "babys cry for all kinds of reasons" . My friend doesnt overact and it really got her down it was so awful to see . Eventually one of them suggested it was reflux and everthing totally changed . Stick to your guns .

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 14:02

I'm going to see how he goes tonight and will speak with the health visitor tomorrow as the drs seem to be clueless then will go back to them hopefully armed with more info from the HV.

Although I have just got some more expensive bottles (went to get dr browns but saw these), gave him a feed and he had 70ml straight off (he was having 120 previously but then went to 60 and then down to 30 which took ages as he was spitting the bottle out and spitting milk out) now he's in bed having a kip, we had a bit of shouting but no screaming or crying. And I managed to get a lot of wind out of him.

I just hate seeing my little man in pain. Confused

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 15:10

It's not reflux.. I have figured out what it is.

He has a massive massive ulcer under his tounge. I have been reading and this also puts them off their food as eating is painful and it explains the screaming.

I have rang the drs back to see what I can do for him and am waiting for a call back.

Poor little man

Siarie · 06/01/2015 15:47

Well done finding that! I can sympathise with him. I burnt the roof of my mouth two days ago eating (really badly). It hurts to eat still now and the skin is all smooth, sensitive and weird. Oh and of course loads of ulcers popped up.

Poor little chap! I'd say baby bonjela but I think you have to be two months old for that.

Cupcake92 · 06/01/2015 18:56

Aaww bless him Ducky!! :( I hope the docs are able to tell u what u can give him to help the ulcer. As baby bonjela is from 2 months.
Not sure about Dentinox tho? I know it's a teething gel but it numbs just like mouth ulcer gel

They gave me painkillers for him, he already seems like his normal self Grin

Cupcake92 · 06/01/2015 20:40

Brilliant news Ducky!!! :) glass he's feeling better bless him!

I'm ovulating today! Woohoo haha Grin my temp dropped and for the first time EVER! I had a weird twinge right where my ovaries are! I was just like "ooo there goes my egg!" Haha! Grin now it's time to catch that egg!!

Well done Ducky- you sorted that out. He is so lucky to have you as his mum.

DS and I have had a whole day together today from 7.30 am until 5.40 pm. DH only rang 6 times Grin and texted twice.

We have snoozed and been for a walk and I took some lovely photos. Didn't get anything much else done between feeds and changes and snoozing. Just a bit of tidying and washing. I don't know where the time went. Did make a macaroni cheese for DH for his tea- it is his favourite.

Cupcake92 · 07/01/2015 04:11

Lulu sounds like u and DS had a good day together :) n Mac n cheese is yummy!! Mmm!

DS has woken up at 3 and I can't get him back to sleep :( I have work too today. N I'm a bit annoyed that DH hasn't been the one to get up n sort DS out.

Cupcake92 · 07/01/2015 06:11

And this is DS now....
Note, he's actually fallen asleep like this ! Grin

Fingers crossed cupcake! Grin Haha ds looks so cute! Face down!

How did you find your first day lulu? Bet DH couldn't put him down when he got in!

Ds is his happy self on his pain killers but when they wear off it's horrible Confused I feel so sorry for him!

Siarie · 07/01/2015 10:08

Haha cupcake not only is that very cute, it's made even more cute by the fact that his little blanket toy is hanging down and looks like its trying to pull the blanket back.

Sound like you had a nice day lulu, nice and chilled!

I've got a doctors appointment later just to discuss my thyroid blood results. I wonder if they will be normal or need more thyroid meds. I'm on the maximum dose for the medicine at the moment so it will be interesting if I need more still! I bet I do.

On the plus side my hammock is "Out for delivery" today, it's coming from the netherlands and shipped really quickly I was expecting it to get stuck in customs for ages but doesn't look like it has. So that will be fun to put together later.

Ducky23 · 07/01/2015 13:07

Stupid question alert.

Those of you that use/have used formula, when you shake the powder in is it meant to go frothy?

My pp machine has come and just did a tester Grin but the milk looked very frothy

21questions · 07/01/2015 16:35

I am cd 12 and have started bleeding today I wonder if something is wrong with me sometimes.

LuluJakey1 · 07/01/2015 17:36

Mine is a bit frothy cupcake. I think it is the shot of hot water on the milk to
make sure it is sterilised- like a cappucino effect. It all goes down the same way with DS!

Sorry 21! How long have you been TTC? Must feel crap. Flowers

Well if yesterday was chilled, today the little so and so has been awake most of the day. He hasn't been naughty but he has been awake much more so I have been keeping my eye on him all the time and I haven't had a nap at all. When he did sleep I sorted some washing out. We went for a walk and he was asleep then- typical. He has a huge pet lip which he trembles if he wants his own way.
DH is having macaroni cheese again for his tea- from last night.

Ducky23 · 07/01/2015 17:52

Haha aww lulu he's becoming more alert Grin

Sorry for moaning loads I am just so stressed. So worried about ds, just wish he was better. He got in such a state earlier screaming tht he almost choked on his medicine Hmm he's now refusing to have anymore so is crying uncontrollably while he's awake and hardly eating Sad

Got someone coming to weigh him tomorrow. They said if he's lost any weight (and id be very surprised if he hadn't) they will have to look at other options, I'm not sure what that will be, maybe hospital to make sure he's not getting dehydrated Sad because there's nothing else they can prescribe for it Sad

LuluJakey1 · 07/01/2015 19:08

You're not moaning Ducky, you're just worried. Is DH being any help?

By the way, it was you I was talking about the frothy milk to, not Cupcake.

Would a bit of ice held to the ulcer help him to have his bottle? You could keep chilling the ulcer and then giving him a bit of bottle. I don't know what else to suggest. It must be really sore for him and awful to watch him like that.

DH is bathing DS. I can hear him talking to him about work and asking him if he has had a nice day with me. Hmm

LuluJakey1 · 07/01/2015 19:10

Cupcake, that picture is really funny. Is he still big for his age? He looks big.

Cupcake92 · 07/01/2015 19:13

Don't owtry Ducky, being a newborn is hard and looking after one is harder as they just can't tell u what's wrong and how to help them. My DS was in and out of hospital until he was about 8 months old as he kept throwing up and had bad bad nappies n was very dehydrated. It's hard but ur doing a fantastic job!
He will feel better soon and start eating properly again.

Lulu he's decided to perk up and make ur day more exciting! Hehe! :p he's giving u a challenge!

OP posts:
Siarie · 07/01/2015 19:18

Certainly not moaning ducky I wouldn't know what to do. I have one book I'm reading but I honestly have never had much baby experience. Like lulu said air bubles are from the way the water is expelled in the prep machine.

I've watched a load of review videos and when they shake the bottle with the hot shot and formula is gets quite foamy too.

My hammock came today, I put it together before DH got home so pleased with it. I feel like I'm doing something useful for her arrival!

I'm going to make a big spreadsheet with clothes and items so I can keep track of what else we need I think.

April TTC girls! Where there's a new baby! Tons of BFP's! And lots more to come!
Cupcake92 · 07/01/2015 19:20

Don't wakey Ducky, it's hard work having a newborn n when they are I'll its worse. Just see what his weight is first cuz if he's putting it on then that's good :)

Lulu he's giving u a more interestin day! Hehe! :p bless him!

21 is its lot of blood or spotting? Might be worth going to ur gp and asking about it?

I'm exhausted its been such a long day and ive only just sat down. DH had tidied the whole house tho so that's made me a lot better! Can't wait for bed!

That pic is cute cupcake I only just saw it. Bless him. Was he tired today?

Poor ds ducky I hope he picks up soon.

Cycle 8 Lulu now not trying this month actually quite relieved. I just did an opk and it was nearly positive which I would expect on cd 12 so don't know why the random bleeding is happening.

21questions · 07/01/2015 19:29

It's quite a lot cupcake not just spotting.

Lovely hammock lulu and great view Smile

Good on dh for tidying up cupcake. My dh has been off today and he is currently snoring on the sofa Hmm
