Hello ladies just catching up on everything . Love the babies all so cute !! I am 35 weeks due feb 10th at work until 38 weeks ,hopefully !! My weight gain seems to have been at around 30 weeks but I ve stopped weighing myself ,cause your going to put weight on your pregnant ! I am still in size 10 maternity jeans and size 12 tops that will do me !! I think the stretch marks have started but nearly there !!

bradders85 · 05/01/2015 16:36

I attempted to weigh myself a few days ago but it turns out the battery in the scales has died!! perhaps a blessing I don't know! Smile bump is pretty neat though and don't think I've put too much on elsewhere, what will be will be!

poppet85 · 05/01/2015 16:46

No dont I had this stupid figure in my head that I wouldn't put on more than 2stone its probably nearer 3 . It just seems to accumulate !! People have said that looking really well and that from behind I dont look pregnant so that will do for me as long as my baby is healthy I couldnt care less !!

First day alone with DS.

Started with DH getting up at 5.45am incase he fell asleep again! He fed DS before he went to work. We had a lovely little morning together. I even sorted the house out a bit- managed to clean the kitchen.

He got home just after 2 had some lunch and we went for a walk. He is now knackered Grin and says he is going to bed at 9. I have said I'll do the feeds tonight but he is insisting he will do the one about 3.30ish. We'll see.

Remember all you slinky young ladies, I was over 11 stone when I realised I was pregnant. I am tall ish- 5 ft 7 and the Dr described my build as 'rangey', said I will never be really thin because of the width of my skeleton. I am straight up and down, not curvy, not much of a waist , not big busted.
I can fit back into my clothes but am still a different shape to before but it is definitely shifting and I am doing the exercises. I reckon I could do with losing a good 20lbs.

Siarie · 05/01/2015 20:15

I'm similar lulu, I'm not petite. I'm about 5 ft 10 and I size 10/12 (can't get a 10 to do up around the hip bone). My skeleton is just built bigger than petite people but it looks normal as before pregnancy I was skinny but not petite lol. Tiny thighs but you can only go so far, I'll never be a size 8 on bottoms as I just cant get my frame in lol!

But I was happy with my body fat and weight so I'm hoping I can get back to that after.

Ducky23 · 05/01/2015 22:14

I'm so exhausted, ds seems to have bad colic Sad it's horrible he keeps just screaming and screaming and there's nothing I can do for him.

I have been to the shop and stocked up on anything and everything that is meant to help with it and have just managed to get him in his Moses basket asleep for the first time since this morning. I haven't managed any sleep since I don't know when Confused

My poor little man

Cupcake92 · 05/01/2015 22:30

If love to be a size 10! Lol! :)

Aw Ducky bless u :( it's awful when they are like that and there's nothing u can do :(
Just keep giving him the medicine etc for it and lots of cuddles and making sure they burp helps too. The sleep but is hard but literally sleep whenever he does, forget about cleaning or anything just get ur sleep okay. Bless u. Ull get theses day every so often with DS and they are hard! But things get better :) like with my DS he was awake all night last week, now he's asleep all night. They will always have their bad days like us hope ur okay Flowers

LuluJakey1 · 05/01/2015 22:43

Ducky- oh that's awful. You must be beside yourself. I don't know what I'd do. Is colic wind? If DS screamed like that I wouldn't know how to help him except call the health visitor or GP. But if he has stopped it suggests you have got it right. Try and get some sleep and let's hope he has worn himself out and sleeps for a few hours so you get a break. Brew

DH went to bed at 9. I am about to give DS his bottle but am doing it downstairs so DH does not wake up. I am hoping DS will sleep until 1.30 ish and then after that one until may be 4.30. By that time if DH feeds him, it will be almost time for him to get up for work and he mght have had about 7 hrs sleep. Whether Ds will co-operate with those timings is another thing. I am sure he wakes up just for a cuddle at times. He's a right little snuggler. I love it after he has had a feed and he just sort of passes out with the effort of feeding. You could do almost anything with him then. Grin

Tonight he was lying in his baby seat and DH sneezed and he nearly jumped out of his skin poor little thing.

LuluJakey1 · 05/01/2015 22:47

I have never been a size 10 or a size 12 Cupcake. I am positively sylph like if I get down to a 14- not skinny but totally in proportion and slim. I am rarely a 14. At a 16 I look decent.

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 04:39

There is something wrong with himSad he has hardly eaten and when he does he's not eating properly and then he gets very distressed.

So so so worried I can't stop crying Sad an waiting for the drs to open and going in.

It looks as if there's a problem with the milk he's having like he is allergic maybe but he's had that milk since birth and there's been no problems.

So worried Sad

Bugaboom · 06/01/2015 04:54

Ducky I haven't been on this thread for a long time but I can't sleep and it popped up in active and couldn't leave your post unanswered. Have you got a sling you can pop baby in and sway? I remember this worked well with ds on nights like this. Then I used to co sleep when he settled.
Also a midwife told me that out of hours GPs and even A&E were always happy to see babies when you are worried even if there was nothing wrong. Can you call them or nhs direct now if he won't settle?

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 05:06

Thanks Bugaboom, did your ds have something similar?

I called nhs direct and she didn't say much but was very lovely, she didn't sound too worried but said as he's so young he will need an emergency gp appointment (within 6 hours) so I have to call them at 8 when they open. That sounds like they aren't too worried doesn't it?

I did think it was just bad colic until he started eating loads less. I'm just pacing the floor waiting for 8 o clock now Sad I've managed to get him to have a kip on the lounge floor but am too scared to do anything where I won't be able to stare at him Sad

I'm still just so worried, I couldn't bear for anythig to happen to him Sad

Bugaboom · 06/01/2015 05:17

I just remember a couple of evenings around 6 weeks old where he was just so unsettled and wouldn't feed which was out of character. He also had reflux so spat up lots- could your DS have that? It can be really uncomfortable for them.
If you can't sleep, sit beside him and try to relax. I spent a whole night once sat right up with baby on chest waiting for gp to open

Bugaboom · 06/01/2015 05:19

And it doesn't sound like they're worried and they're always very cautious with new borns so take comfort in that x

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 05:21

That's exactly what he's been doing Confused I did have him on infacol but that seemed to have made things worse so tried him on gripe water earlier, that seems to have made the passing wind easier but he has been spitting up Sad

Think il just sit with him on my chest until the morning. Really really hope it is that and nothing more serious.

Did you do anythig to stop it? Or did he just grow out of it?

Bugaboom · 06/01/2015 05:49

From about 12 weeks he had infant gaviscon. Not sure it did much really. It is something they grow out of. By 6 months when we started solids he was much better. If it continues they may prescribe a specific formula. It's horrible when they're out of sorts but this is very common. Keep calm, pop the TV on for distraction

LuluJakey1 · 06/01/2015 06:40

Don't know what to suggest except ring Dr but just wanted to say try not to worry. Stupid thing to say, I know, because you must be worried sick. Brew Flowers

I hope you woke DH and got some support from him Ducky.

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 06:57

Thanks guys Sad

It's the fact he's eating at the most half his usual feed that's worrying me the most Hmm it says everywhere to get urgent medical advice if that happens. he's screaming the roof off when he farts and he seems to be farting a hell of a lot. I wondered if it could possibly be his formula.

Another hour until the drs open so I will dress us both and wait.

I just feel so helpless Hmm

poppet85 · 06/01/2015 07:30

Never underestimate problems with reflux !my friends first baby had it they could never lie him down flat he cried alot ! Loads of drs didnt pick up on it until one suggested trying baby gaviscon and he was like a different baby ! Hope everything is ok xx

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 08:25

Confused Rang them constantly at 8 to find out they don't open until 8.30 Hmm

Cupcake92 · 06/01/2015 08:53

Bless u Ducky! Don't worry too much tho I know it's hard not too. My DS was like that, he seemed to be a lot better once he'd done a huge burp and number 2 nappy! Then he settled fine. Also he would spit up constantly if he didn't have his infacol. He may just need a different formula Ducky, what formula is he on? Don't worry tho let us know how u get on Flowers

How did DS sleep Lulu? Did he do what u hoped for? :)

My MIL had colic with DH and my BIL so I've gone on the preemptive and all my bottles are anti colic ones with special valves.

Ducky let us know how it goes, I hope the Drs can reassure you. It's horrinle to feel helpless and he's so small, but I've got my fx that it's nothing serious for you.

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 11:14

It was useless Sad they said as long as he's weeing he will be find and the health visitor doesn't work Mondays Hmm

He has all the anti colic stuff but I don't think it's colic I think it's reflux Sad

Ducky23 · 06/01/2015 11:14

And I just got him home he's had a small feed but absoloutely screamed the house down Sad

Bugaboom · 06/01/2015 11:28

Ducky sorry to hear they weren't helpful. It was a really good health visitor in my case who was more helpful and made me go back to the GP and not leave til he had the meds. If it is reflux the following might help:
Try to feed in an upright position if possible and keep him upright after a feed for 30 mins.
Raise the head of the moses basket (a couple of books under the stand was what we used), as reflux babies hate lying flat.
Maybe try smaller feeds more often.
I also heard that swaddling helps colicky babies (although I was rubbish at it). And I think it's Dr Brown bottles which are good- a friend of mine swore by them.
And if you have a sling, carrying him may help.

But if you are still worried call them back and tell them you are not happy.
