Just thought I'd ask about evening primrose oil, i have herd good things about it regulating an dodgy cycle. I have been taking it for this reason, I am aware that you are not supposed to take it when ovulating, but i have pcos and I don't know even if I do ovulate. Should I keep taking it? My Gp is going to put me on metphormin, should i ask him about this? It sounds daft but i'm confused and Looking to conceive. TIA

You ought to be under the care of a gynae rather than just your GP. PCOS is a condition that ought not to be messed by GPs (you need to be monitored properly) and you may need medical assistance from such a gynae in order to conceive.

EPO won't do you any harm but it won't have any effect at all on stabilising your awry hormone levels re PCOS. With PCOS there is often an imbalance of LH (luteinising hormone) to FSH
(follicle stimulation hormone).

Presumably Metformin is going to be prescribed as you have insulin resistance. I would determine exactly why you are going to take this particular drug treatment.

In your case I would ask for a referral to a gynae consultant.

Verity is a good website to look at re PCOS and I would suggest you look at their web page which is www.verity-pcos.org.uk
