Mirena coil removal

I had my Mirena removed 2 weeks ago so we can ttc for number 2. I've had no bleeding or period yet, is this normal? We haven't dtd due to poorly toddler in bed with us every night so I'm not pregnant. Feel a bit in limbo...

Did you have a withdrawal bleed at all? When I had mine out at the end of October I had a 4 day bleed and then had another 4 day period 20 days later. Waiting to see how long this cycle is.

No, nothing at all! Was expecting it as the nurse had to fiddle about for ages (strings very short!). Haven't had a period in about 4 years now (pregnancy then bf then coil), worried my body's forgotten how!

Hello ladies, Dillydarling any updates on AF, took mine out 5th, 3 day removal bleed, then nothing. I was 28 days prior , so day 32 today

I had mine out in Feb just before our honeymoon.... then immediately heavily bled for almost the whole week of our honeymoon! Hmm

Then I had a more normal af around 3 weeks later... then my cycles settled down. Currently 7/8 weeks pg now.
I would say it's unusual not to bleed but also lucky! Grin Could you take a pg test jeeeust in case?

I had mine out 18th November to ttc #2 :) i had a 4 day withdrawal bleed and then i didn't get my first period until 31st December so a good 42 days later. Heard a lot of people have a little bit of a longer first cycle after removal as your hormones need chance to sort thereselves out :) xxx

Yes, tested today and negative. Day 33 after withdrawal bleed. Frustrating.

Toothachereturns, how many cycles wa it before your got a positive test?

Had mine out in July. Tried unsuccessfully tty for 2 cycles then decided that it was not a good time to be pregnant and our contraception was avoiding days 7 to 21 of my v reg 28 day cycle. Shock horror fell pregnant in November from sex day 23 in cycle...

Flourishing I got a BFP on 3rd and 4th cycles. Both ended in chemical pg. I think my body wasn't ready yet. We stopped trying for 3 cycles.... then got this BFP on the 2nd cycle ttc again. Smile

Congratulations ladies, best take it easy then, just frustrated with no period on day 34 now. I was as regular as clockwork.

Olympicsrock that's very interesting on day 23. I would not expect that. Maybe God/nature gives and takes when she is ready.

Hi - my twopennorth!
Had mine removed 16th December, light bleed started 2 days later for 7 days. Way back when, before I started BC I had 3 week cycles and CM supported this as I had EWCM right after that (CD9), which would been consistent with 3 week cycle and AF due today. Since supposed ov time, (sorry if TMI) had copious creamy white CM, and general small cramping for several days with a couple of hours extreme cervical cramping on CD 18. Now CD22 no sign of AF or the usual mood swings, major cramps, spotting, snapping unreasonably at DP that would usually herald its imminent arrival... BFN yesterday and today. This is only a settling in cycle TTC#1 but I'm already finding it so hard to wait...

Really sorry to hear of the struggles the nurse had to remove it, Disco... I had that both times I had them changed before and was excrutiating. Compared to people coming off BCP, stories of mirena seem to support it being much quicker for our bodies to settle in to the new routine... fx for speedy cycle returns and new year BFPs all round.

I had mine out last week and now had heavy bleeding for 8 days :-( want it to stop so I can get busy trying!! Did anybody else have bleeding last a while when coming off Mirena? I also have PCOS so might be to do with that

I had my Mirena coil removed in July 2014 to ttc no.2 no period for a few weeks then 28 days but now 35 days.cycle 6 and not looking promising

My 3 previous pregnancys wereso quick, I had my mirena out in September 14 and I bled pretty soon after removal then gone onto. 30 ish day cycles, how do I know I'm actually ovulating ?? I've got a week till period is due, hate waiting

When I had my Mirena out I bled for about three days and then about two weeks later I had what I would call a 'proper' period.
