Still not pregnant...??

Hey ladies in praying I can get some responses regarding my fertility.. I'm 24 and I've been off the pill for around 4 months give or take after being on it for 6 years (microgynon). I'm not pregnant and I'm freaking out about it.. It seems to happen so quick for everyone else so I'm seeing if anyone else has had a similar thing happen to them? Doc said can take up to a year for body to go back to normal so im sceptical but waiting patiently. Help!!

In the grand scheme of TTC-ing, 4 months isn't long so don't start panicking :) plus you might still be getting the pill out of your system. I had no contraceptives in my system and took 10 months to fall with my 2nd child. It's not uncommon for it to take a year to conceive. X

Your absolute optimum chance of conceiving if you have sex at the right time and have perfect fertility is around 25% each month. Most perfectly healthy, fertile women take 6 months to a year on average.

4 months is nothing at all. Just enjoy trying. Atm you're worrying about nothing.

You say you're waiting patiently but it sounds like you're panicking.

All being well, once you're pregnant, you're pregnant, and then your life changes. These are your last months of life as is now. Enjoy it! Enjoy TTC. Enjoy blue cheese and wine and not feeling sick and fitting into your clothes for a few more weeks or months. Enjoy being just you and DP.

The doctor is right - six years on the pill does mean your body can need some time to readjust. What you're experiencing is NORMAL for a large proportion of women.

If you want to (though I found it an extra pressure) there are tests you can use to tell you when you ovulate to try to maximise your chances of conceiving. Read up on TTC and understand your cycle. And above all, know that in 99% of cases, it will happen, most likely soon. Good luck

I was on the pill for 10 years and it took 12 months to conceive after coming off it. The first 6 months my periods were irregular and my body was adjusting, then it just took another 6 months for it to actually happen. 4 months is really not a long time at all for a healthy couple to conceive.
