I have never posted on Mums net before. I have been ttc since March I had a miscarriage in July . I was totally devastated , we haven't really been trying after the Dr suggested we waited for two proper cycles. I am 43 and have 3 children by a previous relationship. This month I felt strange dizzy sick sore boobs so I bought a Clearblue digital as I thought it was the Rolls Royce of pregnancy tests. I was over the moon when it came up 1-2 weeks pregnant. Sadly three days later AF arrived. I am not resolved that I was not pregnant and looking at reviews this is not uncommon sadly for all the other woman who have had there hopes raised and cruel dashed. I have written to Clearblue and I hope they will look at the tests. Has anyone on here experienced this.

See the thing is.. so many pregnancies start but don't progress and the woman gets her period as usual so is none the wiser. Thanks to tests these days hopes are raised then dashed more than they used to be.

I hope you get the result you want soon.

Sorry to hear about this. Do you think it might have been a chemical pregnancy?

I thought that it may have been but lots of people seemed to have the same thing. It gets tougher every month to carry on and things like this don't help :(

Hi Narnia. Sorry for what you have been through, it must be really difficult. I strongly suspect that it may have been a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage - they are very common (some studies approximate 50-60% of all pregnancies).
My GP suggests that women shouldn't test until they are at least one or two weeks late for their AF as there is such a high chance of this which is really distressing.
However, when TTC, most of us will of course test as soon as possible and will use brands such as clear blue. Therefore it will look as though there is an abnormally high rate of this happening.

Thanks for all your kind words. It is really tough , I am extremely lucky I have three lovely children 18, 15 , 11 . I am going to go to GP next week to see if she can suggest anything. I guess we can keep trying but it gets harder each month and I don't want it to take over my life anymore than it has . It's good to speak to other people , Miscarriage is still such a taboo subject and it's good to be able to talk about it.
