Is it true that if you concieve on day 14, you're guaranteed to have a boy.

Old wives tale of course. You have a almost 50:50 chance of a boy or a girl (ever so slightly higher chance of having a boy).

Arthur is right and there is some biological fact behind it. Female sperm is strong and often lives longer but is slow. Male sperm is faster so biologically speaking, male sperm should beat female sperm if released around the same time as the egg. As with anything though, there are also exceptions and chances are, not all sperm will be 'perfect' amd fully mobile anyway, so there is no way of knowing if baby will be a boy or girl this way.
