Hi all

Apart from folic acid, does anyone know of a definitive list of vitamins and supplements that I could be taking to help conception? I'm 37 & TTC #2 so trying to ensure all avenues are covered! Confused

Also any recommendations for cheap opks? Has anyone got any links so I don't end up buying duff ones? Grin

TIA

Hi, Vitamin B12 is fantastic when trying to conceive. I used these for both of my pregnancies along with chromium, magnesium, co-enzyme Q10 and zinc. I have PCOS so it's a nightmare conceiving but when I started using these vitamins combined they worked magic. They are all available from holland and barretts. Good luck.

I've got the Seven Seas 'trying for a baby' pills for me and the Wellman Conception tablets for hubby to help boost the sperm condition etc. the opk tests you can get super cheap from ebay, just search ovulation tests. I just bought 30 for about £3.
Good luck!

I got a BFP today Smile

I took -

Zinc - recommended as very important for fertility

B-Complex - To help boost progesterone in the literal phase

Soy Isoflavones - boost estrogen and ovulation, strengthen egg. Best not to take this unless you are having ovulation issues as it can apparently mess you up. I'm knocking on a bit and wanted to give my ageing eggs a boost.

Also taking the Seven Sea Trying for a Baby pills as they're nice and small not huge like the Pregnacare ones!!

I took Zita West fertility pills as they had all sorts in one batch. Expensive though and a pain you have to take 3 a day. Also DHA and additional vit d. Conceived within a few months at 37. How much that had to do with the pills, who knows?

Hi,

Its fantastic that you are trying to get your body ready for your next pregnancy, may I suggest looking at Chinese Herbs as an option, or even Acupuncture.

A recent study indicated that Chinese medicine could double the chances of conceiving. Happy to provide some further guidance if you need help.
