Miscarriage then + preg test two weeks later??

Losing the plot so thought I'd ask on here! I'm a regular lurker but don't post often.

I miscarried at 5+4 on 10-15 Oct, scanned 15 th & had blood in my uterus but hcg was at 12 which was a negative on a preg test, told no further action needed. I bled fri-weds, had some spotting after sex a week ago.

I've been doing ovulation tests to find out what's going on and they've been + for 4 days, I randomly decided to do a preg test this morning & it has a very very faint pos line. Now I'm confused if this is remaining hcg from my miscarriage two weeks ago or potentially a new preg??

I'm going to speak to my gp about bloods to check hcg tomorrow but in the meantime I'm googling myself mad!!

I would say your pregnant if you showed negative previously ??

Wouldn't you have to have ovulated (and dtd) basically the day after your miscarriage, in order to now have a positive test? (An early bfp might show from day 10 post ovulation.)
I suspect it is residual hormone, but to know for sure you'd need further hgc tests - this would confirm it as they'd either be going up, or down, over a period of a few days.

12 hcg can show positive some tests show positive at 10 hcg sorry I don't think you are pregnant.

Sorry to say this but I was told you can show up positive on a pg test up to 3 weeks after a miscarriage. All to do with hormone levels.

I don't actually see how I could be preg again so soon. I'm assuming my hcg has dropped from 12 from two weeks ago though.
I had sex fri (10th) began bleeding, bled slightly heavier over the weekend, tested sat and had a very very faint pos so knew I was miscarrying, tested tues after bleeding turnt to spotting and was a definite negative. Scanned weds and blood in uterus, hcg 12. That was on the 15th. Had sex on 10th & 20th. It's a mystery and I'm clueless?!

After the internal scan on weds (15th) I passed some clots and black blood, then had brown spotting for the afternoon. Nothing since then apart from small amount of spotting after sex on the 20th. Maybe I haven't passed it all but it's strange I had a negative on the tues before my scan, and now pos? I'll speak with the gp tomorrow see if I can get bloods done

I got pregnant immediately after a miscarraige that happened at about 5 1/2 weeks. It took about 2 weeks for the miscarraige to be totally over and I had a negative test at that stage. Two weeks later a positive pregnancy test and I am now 13 weeks. It can happen, in fact you are more fertile than usual for up to 6 months after a miscarraige (or so I have read anyway).

It does seem very early for you but I would leave it a few more days (if you can, I know it's not easy) and test again. Hopefully you'll get a stronger line and then you'll know for sure. Best of luck!

According to my 24 day cycles, if I class the miscarriage as a period, my last "period" being the 10th, I ovulated 17-22nd, I had sex 20th, so 6 dpo if this is a new pregnancy, slight possibility...

You could be pg 6 days post ovulation, but I've never heard of a pg test that would show positive at 6 days. I think you will hurt yourself more if you keep thinking this way tbh - get blood tests to know for sure.

I'm not convincing myself I'm preg, just mystified by it, there is a 7% of pos tests at 6dpo, unless I ovu sooner, I dunno! I've phoned the gp, they're calling me back for a phone consultation, I need bloods and the nurse does them so once I've spoke with the gp I can book in with the nurse

Gp says wait a week if still coming up pos they will do bloods. In the meantime im gonna turn into a pee on a stick addict!!

I've been away for a few days, got back this evening, peed on a preg test and an ov stick and both have faint pos still. I think it's hcg from the miscarriage and my body is all over the place but time will tell

It seems strange that you would still have lingering hcg after a miscarriage at 5weeks op. I only say that because I miscarried twice at around 5-6weeks and my hcg levels were back to normal within days. Definitely go see your doctor again.

Is it possible that you have not passed everything yet, could retention make a pg test positive? Sometimes women need a procedure to make sure everything has come out. I know you were scanned already but it was really close to the actual miscarriage wasn't it.

I don't know, I had blood in my uterus on the weds I was scanned, I passed clots and black blood that afternoon & brown smudge like stuff came out for the next 2 days, not enough to wear a pad.

I'm going to call the gp and ask for blood work tomorrow as I just got this, could it be an evap line? It came up within 10 mins.

I did phone epu last week & ask if my hcg of 12 would give a positive result on a hpt but she said definitely not, & more unlikely two weeks later. It's a mystery, I feel like I'm due on though.

How are you? Did you get your bloods done?

I had a misscarriage on 21st of June, did a pregnancy test 3 weeks afterwards which showed negative. Then the day after I did an early test as been sexually active and came up as a faint positive. What are your thoughts please ?
