As it's autumn and that time of year when everyone on public transport is coughing & spluttering. Should I avoid taking cold & flu meds (Lemsip etc) while TTC?

Similarly should I avoid alcohol incase pregnant & don't know yet?!

Thanks.

My 3 were all conceived after alcohol was consumed!

Nah, maybe be careful during the tww but u don't know how long it will take u could be of alcohol for months!

Emslifechoices · 23/10/2014 14:36

Thanks I thought the same about being off alcohol for months! Was more worried about taking medication as know that pregnant ladies are only meant to take paracetamol.

Wantingtobe - what does tww stand for?

tww = two week wait

it is the period between ovulation and when af is due (aka the time when you could be pg and not know it)

Def don't take Lemsip or cold remedies as they accelerate the heart.

Valsoldknickers · 25/10/2014 09:50

Like weegiemum alcohol is usually the reason I have conceived! After wine I have thrown caution to the wind, flung my knickers over the lampshade and bingo Grin but if you think you are I would avoid (not to make light of your question). Good luck btw.

Instead of lemsips I have been having paracetamol and a hot lemonade and honey it does the same job really with DS I was pregnant all through the winter so used it a lot. I've also booked myself for the flu injection at asda would hate to have flu when pregnant.

Still drinking but trying to keep it to a minimum no drunken nights out for me.
