TTC vitamins?

Hi all,
Bit of background... I came off the pill in August, had a 28 day cycle, followed by a 'normal' af and am now on day 34 of cycle 2 desperately frustrated awaiting af or bfp (have had 2 bfn's over the past few days!)
Doesn't 2 months seem like a lifetime when ttc?!
Anyway, I started taking 'Seven seas - trying for a baby' vitamins as soon as I stopped my pill but I'm pretty certain they are making me cramp? I seem to get cramps and bloating that can't be put down to ovulating or pre-af!
Does anyone have any recommendations for vitamins that they are taking while ttc? Is just folic acid enough? Should my dh also be taking vitamins as I've seen 'his & hers' sets in boots?!
Any help really appreciated x

ps: theyre Pregnacare his & her Conception. look out for offers in boots/superdrug..

I just take folic acid as have heard lots of things about the side effect of prenatal vitamins such as lengthening cycle, etc. DH doesn't take anything (yet!) as I think a healthy diet is more important than vitamin supplements.

Hi Emz

My hubby is taking well man conception and I am taking pregnacare. For men the vits can help if there's any male fertility issues so we thought we'd cover all bases just in case! Not that it's helped us yet, but fingers crossed for next cycle.

loopylou1984 · 23/10/2014 07:44

Ps. I've not had any side effects of taking it.

Emz1989 · 23/10/2014 08:17

Thank you for your helpful responses... Must get dh on board! I'm sure it's the pregnacare his and hers vits I've seen in my local boots so I'll pick a pack up this weekend. Sue bride head that's interesting you've heard they can lengthen the cycle, I will try and read more into that...

I take pregnacare conception. Read lots of bad reviews after I had bought it about lengthening cycle, reducing cm, etc but other than neon yellow wee I don't have any side effects so I guess it depends on the person. I eat relatively healthily but thought the extra vits couldn't be a bad thing as I eat quite a lot of the same food and don't have variety in my fruit and veg e.g. we always eat bananas and satsumas, leeks and brocolli and not much other veg!

I tried pregnacare but that made me have a 37 day cycle felt so sick and awful headaches, now taking seven seas trying for a baby , been on them for two months and feel ok in them, I get spotting mid way through cycle so hoping that they stop that

crazypuglady · 23/10/2014 21:26

I'm just taking folic acid and iron tesco cheapies. Can't believe the price of conception vitamins! I thought it was babies that were meant to be expensive, not making them!

tootssw17 · 23/10/2014 23:20

Omg that's why my pee is neon yellow! < ahhhhhh I seeeeeeee face> i am taking pregnacare conception - worried it might be Lenthening cycle as last one was 43 ish days but also was first one post 13 years on various pill types.

So anyone else had side effects to pregnacare other than bankruptcy ? Soo pricey but had neural issues once upon a long ago so my worries are family ones from vit issues.

loopylou1984 · 24/10/2014 07:01

Haha toot, that made me laugh because it took me a couple of days to realise why my wee looked so strange too!
No side effects here, all cycles 28-32 days.
