Alcohol and the egg extraction/freezing process

I am 32 and single and about to start the egg extraction and freezing process. I just had my prostap (?) injection today and now have to call them back on the first day of my next bleed. At the end of the appointment I asked the nurse if there was anything I should or shouldn't be eating or drinking at the moment and she said it was maybe best to avoid alcohol from now on although I should definitely avoid alcohol when the process actually moves on to the next stage (daily injections etc I think). She didn't seem to think it would be disastrous to have a few social drinks though.

Does anyone know any more about this? Is it a precaution at this stage because they don't know for sure that it doesn't reduce the odds of things working or is there already evidence that you reduce your chances of success by drinking at this stage? I have a few social and professional events coming up and I'm really socially awkward without a glass or two of wine although I don't drink much more than that when I'm out. I definitely won't drink during the next phase but need to know whether I'd be an idiot to do so in the next week or so. I'd be glad of any opinions or advice!

What did other people's nurses say to them? I'm not sure my nurse would have mentioned it if I hadn't asked which makes me think it maybe isn't that big a deal. But then again I've had quite a few consultation appointments over the last few months and maybe they've brought this up before and I've just forgotten?
