Cramping in very early pregnancy

Hello :) DH and I have been ttc (came off the mini pill in June). It's been 17 days since the first day of my last period so I think I should have ovulated recently. I'm due another period in about two weeks. Over the weekend I have been incredibly tired and today I have very uncomfortable cramping and a feeling of heaviness but as I say, not due for another two weeks or so. Could I be pregnant? I can't think what else this cramping could be, it's exactly like before my period but a long way off being due. I do have a dd but she was such a surprise I was almost 10weeks before we found out (I had the coil fitted!) so I wasn't aware of any very early symptoms.

it could be ovulation cramping? if i were you i'd dtd. it seems about right timing. maybe use an app like Fertility Friend. Can help to track your cycles, although may be still a bit random as less than 6 months since you were off pill.

good luck.

I've had cramping all 3 times before I officially missed my period.

LittleBairn · 20/10/2014 18:54

Oops just re-read yes ovulation can cause cramping too. You could easily be ovulating on day 17, I do and currently 14 weeks after on DTD on day 17.
Day 14 as ovulation day is just an average some people will be shorter and some longer.

They've eased off a bit now. DH is away with work - bugger! Hopefully home tomorrow night but may be too tired to dtd! Maybe it is just ovulation. I've never had that before (even pre-dd) they are painful enough I would have been aware of them. Now I google it I see it's very common.

Good luck to everyone else who is ttc x

I think once 'we' start TTC we notice so much more about our bodies. You've probably always had a bit of ovulation cramping, but because it wasn't painful enough for painkillers or something, your mind sort of ignored it.

Good luck.

I agree TTC makes you much more aware of your cycle and how your body reacts.
cinnamon don't worry about it being too late its always worth a go. DH and I almost skipped the cycle I fell pregnant in because he was ill but at last minute the signs were there, it was day 17 and we got on with it. I had very little hope I would get pregnant but sure enough my body had other plans.

LittleBairn when did your cramping start/stop? The reason I ask is I've had strange cramping, bit like AF cramps, very full heavy tummy and really bloated since 3dpo. I'm now one day late and plan to test Saturday if still no AF. (14dpo).

LittleBairn · 21/10/2014 19:17

teenie when its been AF/BFP time it usually starts a day or two before my period and can last a few days to a week.
It's really common and usually put down to the cells implanting into the womb.
Really hope you get your BFP!

CinammonGirl · 21/10/2014 19:52

Thankou everyone :) Think you are probably right about being more aware. DH will be home later this evening so will see if I can entice him to dtd haha.
