Well because of the circumstances it was different to normal births, I dealt with the pain fine but they gave me morphine towards the end as more of a sedative i think Hmm I'm the opposite to most people and didn't know I was in labor at all until my waters went about 30 mins before DD came. I did actually refuse to go to hospital until late as I thought id be wasting their time!

If you have the option of that siarie I would say go for it! Sounds lovely! It is painful but it's hard to describe and when the contractions stop it's a really good feeling. Really difficult to describe! The water is meant to be very soothing and if you don't have any other pain relief you know you will be able to handle your baby properly and be mobile following the birth. Smile

I'm going to try for a water birth but if I'm induced I will need more monitoring so may need to get out the pool, i don't know if I can have an epidural as I'm on aspirin to thin my blood but will find out in two weeks when I see my consultant again

But at first I had gas and air, that made me very sick. I don't think that happens with most people but it did with me Confused

Birth centre sounds so lovely siarie!
And Ducky a water birth sounds the most relaxing :) and more hands on, would be amazing!!

And yea when contractions stop its so nice and u then think "ahh I can do this I think"
My labour went on for a quite a few days so an epidural was the only option for me as pain got too intense and I needed to sleep Grin

Ducky23 · 06/11/2014 15:49

Omg cupcake! Days!!! Don't blame you for having an Epi then!

With dd I started getting twinges at around 9.30pm, then went to bed at around 11.30, woke up at 12 needing the loo all the time and pain was getting worse, then at around 1am i was grumbling (that's what I do when I'm in pain Grin) and went to hospital for about 1.45. Dd was born at 5.08am so really quite a short labor from what I have heard!

Did you guys have any tearing? I think thats the one thing I just don't want, I know you don't decide but it's the aftercare and being uncomfortable.

I could take any other pain but i hate ongoing discomfort which is why I really struggled with my 1st trimester. I actually remember telling my DH I would rather give birth than feel like this lol!

Ducky23 · 06/11/2014 16:18

I didn't have any tearing, dd was very small though so don't know if it was because of that, I also do pelvic floor excercises a lot, don't know if that helps but it makes me feel better! I think if you have a tear they numb that area so it should be ok, at least that's my understanding!

In other news, at 33 weeks, I have the very first stretch mark I have ever had Confused at least I think that is what it is! It's at the bottom of my bump and it's a dark purple line. And after all that money I spent on creams and stuff!!!

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 06/11/2014 18:06

Yes Ducky days Grin haha! It was awful!!
Sounds like a stretch mark too!! :) I suddenly got covered in them at 37 weeks!! :( :(

And siarie I got a huge tear!! Right at the bottom of my belly hahaa Grin I ended up with a emergency csection Grin

Bearsinmotion · 06/11/2014 21:25

With DD I had an epidural before I was induced so I didn't experience labour at all. Can't decide this time I should ask for that again or wait for him to come of his own accord. I think I'll wuss out and aim for an induction around 39 weeks Grin

Cupcake92 · 06/11/2014 21:57

Weirdly Bears I want to experience a proper labour next time as I felt my last was just a disaster! I rele want a water birth. But id have to make sure the midwifes would let me VBAC.

Well I got through today with no AF. She was due today but hasn't showed! Still bfn today tho but will test again tomorrow morning

Cupcake92 · 07/11/2014 07:18

No AF still but bfn this morning. If no AF or bfp this weekend it'll be a trip to the docs for blood test.

Ducky23 · 07/11/2014 08:11

Oh no cupcake, your in limbo again Hmm

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 07/11/2014 08:17

I know :( but I don't think I'm pg tho.
Debating whether to get a FRER? As I've read reviews that the IC's I got sometimes never work haha

Ducky23 · 07/11/2014 08:24

I think they can be a bit dodgy Confused you know me! i love fr!

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 07/11/2014 08:34

Yeah will get a FRER then and do it tomorrow morning. Then I'll know for certain. N if bfn then AF is taking its time! But I will know if I can have a drink at a party im going to Saturday night :)

Siarie · 07/11/2014 09:24

Limbo land! Yeah those IC can take ages to have a line which isn't questionable.

We shall just have to wait and see!

Cupcake92 · 07/11/2014 10:09

I'm just going to leave it now as I'm sure AF will turn up this weekend :)
I'll only test on Monday if it hasn't with an FRER :)

Ducky23 · 07/11/2014 10:17

Fingers crossed for you cupcake.
How has your h been?

I feel so useless, the house is an absoloute state but all I can do is sit on the sofa! I just feel constantly worn out! I've now dragged myself back to bed!

Cupcake92 · 07/11/2014 18:49

Thanks Ducky :)
N he's been okay but unfortunately he lost his job today :( so things arent great. But he's so upset about it. He's applied for a lot of jobs today.... Including the army.
He said that's what he wants the most.
Dunno what to think about that if I'm honest :s

N no wonder ur worn out Ducky uve got a baby growing in u! :) rest as much as u can! Make H clean!!

Ducky23 · 07/11/2014 19:07

Oh no Hmm is that a job he's mentioned before?

And as for my h tidying! He thinks if he puts the dirty dishes in warm water for 3 or so days he can take them out and they're clean! Grin

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 07/11/2014 19:20

Yeah he mentioned it before we had DS but I persuaded him not to apply. But he's actually applied today.

Hahaha Ducky that's what my H does!! Grin

Cupcake92 · 07/11/2014 19:43

Past few days I've not been able to eat a lot as I've been getting so so full very quickly then feeling sick as I'm so full! But I've hardly ate anything. It's so weird. But maybe it's good n I'll loose some weight Grin
