Haha I would say I got lucky with my DH but that would be a lie, there was no luck just planning. We met when I was 16 and by that time I had gone through so many wasters, I think what helped was that I ditched them soon as I knew they weren't right.
I was strangely aware at a young age, but I knew what I was looking for by the end of it. He happened to walk in at a house party, I had a little chat and then I wasn't going to let him walk out without me. I actually had a BF at the party! It seems mad but I knew in the end what was more important, yes I would be hated by some people for a short time but what would you give to find your soul mate?
So fast forward almost ten years now, that's why i now have a guy who is ambitious, old worldly (with regards to paying for things, opening doors, etc), attractive, clean and tidy, works really hard, clever and intelligent, great with kids, drives (this was really important back then lol), and ultimately good in his heart. He does things for complete strangers to help them all the time.
I don't think I have a bad word to say about him. Get yourself a five year plan, find someone who shares your values and plan and live your life happy.
