Anyone on clomid who uses other things to help conceive too?

Hi,

I've been given clomid as I don't ovulate or have periods naturally (PCOS and endometriosis). I've been told I will only get given it for 6 months so obviously want to try my best to optimise each cycle.

I've seen people talk about soy, makuna honey, certain vitamins etc. But I'm not sure if any of these are suitable to use alongside clomid? I don't want to ask my doctor as they are pretty useless and I know they will disregard all of them Hmm
So do any of you lovely ladies use any extra things on top of taking clomid or anyone done it and it's worked?

Thanks

I'd be interested in this too as am just finishing cycle 3 with no sign of ovulation (PCOS, no natural AF since coming off the pill just over a year ago). Fingers crossed you get a better response Coral

Hi coral as you know im only on first month of clomid.

Im taking epo for cm 2000mg a night up to ovulation.

And ive bought some preseed to help aswell apart from that nothing.

Thanks LAM Smile is that natural cycles or are you also on clomid?

Hi Blueberry Smile were you told it was ok to try certain things? The epo is to lengthen cycles isn't it? I don't need that but thought I might try the honey and pre seed also. I like the look of the soy but I'm worried it may interfere or something?

Hi coral no epo is for cm so hoping itll counter act the clomid drying me up (tmi) alot of girls on the buses take the epo and its worked for them

xBlueberry88x · 12/10/2014 18:33

Oh and the soy does the same as clomid so i wouldnt use it at the same time

Coralcolour · 12/10/2014 18:39

Ahh fab, thanks for clearing that up Blue. So epo only until you ovulate? What if your not sure when you ovulate? What dose is recommended? So you think it's ok to take alongside the clomid then?

Sorry for all the questions!

Coral I quickly googled it and couldnt find anything to say not to use it the other day.

Yes only until ovulation because its not good for early pregnancy.

Ask on the buses theres a few on there that know alot more than I do about it.

Last day of my first lot of clomid today fx it works!!

Been on clomid for 3 cycles, day 28 bloods tomorrow then onto cycle 4....Been tracking temp so I am pretty confident it's not worked, so much so I haven't even bothered ringing for the day 21 results. May as well get both rubbish results in 1 go! Fed up with it already!

Coralcolour · 13/10/2014 10:59

Thanks Blue, good luck!

LAM- sorry the clomid is not working for you, have you had to double the dose? Fingers crossed for your blood results

This cycle was 100mg, cycle 4 should be as well. But I've just worked out DH is away for the most of cycle 5. So am going to ask if I can up the dose again for cycle 4 seeing that cycle 5 may as well be written off. Day 21 was 1.4, no ovulation as expected. Shall be rolling into cycle 4 soon....
Keep us posted with how you get on!!

Coralcolour · 15/10/2014 10:50

Oh Lam how annoying for you! Can they up the dose past 100mg? How strange that it's not working for you, have they given you any alternatives?

Well I've started provera again today to induce a period and will be taking 100mg clomid a day once my period starts and hopefully that will make me ovulate Smile
