No Periods After Coming Off the Pill - Consultation in 2 Weeks

Hi I'm a newbie.

I came off the pill early this year and have now got to about CD220.

I headed to my GP who in fairness has turned out to be a bit of a reassuring legend. He did ask me to wait for six months. I saw him again and have been referred for a gynaecology appointment in 2 weeks.

He ordered blood tests and everything apparently looks fine.I'm a bit scared and gradually turning into a google obsessed basket case. I have a few questions for anyone who has been through this:

  • What do the hormone levels actually mean; I can't find anything that takes them in the round. A friend mentioned that the ratio of two of them was important, which two?
  • I was extremely vitamin D deficient a couple of years ago. I don't feel as ill but could this still be a factor? Should I mention it?
  • What should I expect at the appointment (it's the first)? What should I ask? What's likely to happen next?
  • I have a healthy BMI (20-21) but low body fat and exercise a bit; how much exercise is too much? I'm doing less now than I did when I was younger and even than a couple of years ago. Am trying to gain more weight (I know, terrible problem to have) but it's just making me miserable
  • Is it possible to PCOS with no other symptoms than secondary amenorrea?

Any advice gratefully received; having never been particularly maternal in the past, it's really getting to me. As illogical as it is, I really feel like I'm letting DH down right now :(.

Hello Kitkat :) I stopped taking Yasmin in July after getting married and I'm now on CD92. Saw GP earlier in the week who said she could do blood tests, but they wouldn't be able to interpret the results because they don't know where I am in my cycle (not heard of this before, but I guess she's the expert). She reassured me that all I need to do is be patient and take folic acid, and said to come back in three months if AF has not appeared. At that point they would do blood tests (I couldn't understand why they would bother then and not now) and send me for a scan. Came away gutted, but the next day I had loads of thin yellow CM which I'm taking as a sign of progress! I've had nothing except for 2-3 days of EWCM a couple of weeks ago and did DTD once, so will do a pg test tomorrow (but expecting BFN).

Sorry I'm not sure this is very helpful, but wish you all the best :)
