Hi ladies,
DH and I have been ttc for ten months now and on Monday I had an ultrasound scan (had some irregular bleeding so GP decided to investigate, I also wanted to check that everything in there was ok!).
The scan went fine, the nurse said everything looked good, though she could see a little cyst and a little blood on my left ovary, which she thought was where I'd ovulated. She also said that my uterus lining looked a bit thicker that they would have expected at this point in my cycle, which could either be normal for me or mean that I'm in the early stages of pregnancy.
Now, when she asked me where I was in my cycle, I replied I was on day 21 but having come home and checked, I was actually on day 24. Does anyone have any idea how much this would affect the thickness? My cycle length varies from between 30-35 days normally.
...Trying not to go crazy here! Any opinions welcome!!

Not that I am in any way an expect, but as I understand the womb lining thickens prior to ovulation, and then remains thick until either an egg is fertilized and implanted, or your period sheds it all out? If you have a longer cycle I would have thought it would still be thick by now as your body wouldn't yet know if egg had been fertilised as too early for implantation? But tbh that all sounds pretty cryptic.

If I were you I would take a test in a few days as it cant hurt!

Thank you for the reply, it is a bit confusing and cryptic. And thanks to the nurse for dropping that gem...!! I'll hold out as long as I can before testing, I don't want to get my hopes up, but it's so hard not to!
