Hi.
I'll be 43 this month and this is the first time in my life i've had the chance to have a family.
I'm excited but also realistic that it might not happen. We've been trying for 3 months now so i'm not worried yet.

I had an FSH test a year ago and that was as expected for my age. I'm cutting down on my drinking (not easy) trying to lose a bit weight (BMI is 26) and have been exercising (running) a couple of times a week. I'm also taking PreConception vitamins from Boots. I don't want to become obsessed but i also don't want to miss the chance.

Anyone else been through this? What did you do? Did you have any other tests? How long did you leave it?

How did you feel about the fact that chances are low?

any advice would be welcome.

Sarah

Hi Lastminute, come over to the 40+ thread. Lots of positive stories & support there.

Google Deanna method. Use Pre Seed lube, do the deed from day10 of your cycle, every day, use fertility friend app to plot temperatures and ovulation kits as well. Track it all on the FF app.

Worked for me. Had my DCs at 43 and 47! With very little trouble!

I think I. Your forties you need to target your fertile days. Just waiting for it to happen isn't an option.

Good luck.

Hope you don't mind I thought I'd have a nosey at this thread as I'm 38 and I've been struggling to conceive my second baby for 21 months. I've had a scan and blood tests and all came back fine. My doctor has basically said it's my age and there is nothing further they can do for me.

I've been using ovulation predictor kits for the last few months so we have been DTD at least once at the right time, the problem is my OH has a very low sex drive.

I also have the Fertility Friend app and would recommend it.

Lagoonablue Its really good to read your positive story. Maybe there is hope for me yet.

Good luck LastMinuteMother
