The December 2014 bus is here armed with mulled wine, mince pies, mistletoe and a sack-full of BFPs

Cariad2014 · 02/10/2014 11:32

This bus is for anyone ttc hoping to get a BFP in December.

I know it's super early, but as I'm currently on a 2 month enforced break from ttc following a ruptured ectopic, December is the next bus I can catch.

Do feel free to come and join me on the journey.

Bluesky, congratulations, so thrilled for you!

Frolicacid · 24/11/2014 19:17

Congratulations bluesky. I've been thinking of you all day. I'm trying soy for the second cycle so extra pleased to hear your story Smile

Thanks for doing the stats shoot.

Thanks miss, I will stop the guaifanesin as soon as I get a positive opk.

How are your symptoms blueberry? I think I've gone symptom spotting mad - I just got excited at a twinge in my boob and I've not even bloody ovulated yet this cycle!! My ovaries have been reigning lots today though, so hopefully it will be soon.

I hope everyone else is doing ok. The thread has been busy today.

ninjabeer · 24/11/2014 19:48

Congratulations Bluesky what very excellent news for you especially after such a worrying few days.

Hello Sparkly I've been bit shy about mentioning it here but since you asked I'll be brave and say yes we're using a little 'home help' to get up duffed! There are a few threads kicking about but I've not found all of them are completely helpful and some aren't active anymore. I know at least one couple (ladies) who it has worked for with donor sperm at home so am hopeful that it will work for me and DH eventually.

We've not been using contraception for years and nothing's happened and now that the clock is ticking we've accepted that too much pressure to DTD at exactly the right time is seriously getting in the way so we've decided to get technical. I've found this website gives you all the low down for a game of bedroom doctors and nurses prideangel.com/p14/shop.aspx You can get a kit from there but we cobbled together some bits and bobs from the internet without spending as much money.

Hope this is helpful :)

Feeling positive this month because Christmas is coming and it's cold outside so plenty of opportunity to get on it.

Blueskygirl30 · 24/11/2014 19:49

I hope then Soy works for you this cycle Frolic. I took it because I was temping and my charts weren't showing that I'd ovulated....but I also did the temping this cycle and FF didn't show me as having ovulated this cycle either and, well, obviously I must have! Hopefully it'll give you a lovely mature egg.

If anyone is interested, I also took seven seas trying for a baby, I used soft cups twice and did some upside down cycling. I don't know if any of these helped but it's the first time I've done any of those things. And we only DTD three times around ovulation, the afternoon before, the morning of and the night of. And that was it for the whole fertile time.

HariboBrenshnio · 24/11/2014 19:53

Can i go on the stats list please?

Frolic Today my symptoms are- masses of internal creamy cm and watery cm in underwear, hunger, very slight cramping (but I had some last month), nauseous and boobs hurting. love that your symptom spotting already!!

loopylou1984 · 24/11/2014 20:12

Blue sky - what are soft cups? Xx

CoffeeTwo · 24/11/2014 20:26

I think I got missed please could you add me in thank you

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 5, bfp due 25th December!

tessiegirl · 24/11/2014 20:27

Can I ask MissMrs what problems did you find with Pregnacare?

Also regarding soy, is this only used to help with ovulation or for any other reasons as well?

photographerlady · 24/11/2014 20:28

xBlueberry I did hear that too so maybe I missed the boat. My last pill was at cd6 and cycle day 16 with ovulation pains but no positive ovulation.

I've been at the fertility game a long time. First time round on clomid I really think it was the 3x a week acupuncture that normalised my cycles and got me the BFP. DD is now 16 months and this is my second cycle.

I've been eating hazelnuts and taking 3x 200mls of guaifeneisin since cd9. I have soft cups but been a bit chicken to use them. Feels like a science project but luckily DH and I made it past the stressful years of TTC and seems we both enjoy the fun of it now.

McGrat thanks for updating the stats :)

CoffeeTwo · 24/11/2014 20:28

Congratulations bluesky!

Blueskygirl30 · 24/11/2014 20:45

Sammylou soft cups are actually designed for when you've got AF to use instead of a tampon. They're little soft plastic cup things that you put inside you. Some people use them when ttc to keep the swimmers closer to the cervix. I used them this month after daytime DTD as I would be getting up and wakling around after 15 minutes to keep them all inside. I could only use them then as I had to wait for DH to leave the room before popping one in....I've tried to hide most of the ttc madness from him in a bid to keep romance alive.

Blueskygirl30 · 24/11/2014 20:53

I don't know if anyone wants my stats at all but I really enjoyed reading everyone else's so, just in case anyone is interested. I've already mentioned above the Soy, seven seas and soft cups and limited DTDing and that I temped but FF never thought that I'd ovulated. From 1dpo to 6dpo I had thrush and also had to go the loo and pee once a night in the middle of the night. I had headaches from around 3dpo which I never normally get and I also had really sore teeth (bit random I know). 10 & 11dpo I was absolutely exhausted and since then I've had occasional sore boobs but not many real symptoms. I also got what I thought was AF 2 days early hence the blood tests and early scans.

Sorry if no one really wanted to read those! I'm going to sit back with my Pom poms and the ready and watch all of your BFPs roll in now! Good luck ladies!!!

Cariad2014 · 24/11/2014 21:07

Thanks for doing a fab job updating the stats MaG - I'm not actually TTC this cycle (a long story involving being utterly paranoid of suffering a second ectopic over Christmas), so if you could take me off the stats list when you have a chance that would be great.

I will however be popping in from time to time to cheer you all on. Hoping in the nicest possible way not to see any of you on the January bus.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 24/11/2014 21:12

Thanks blue sky - I can see how they could kill the moment! Hehe

I'm currently 3 dpo (according to ff) and have had a headache all day... I normally get this when af is due but it's far to early for that. Weirdly I also have (tmi alert) a lot of wet cm - some of it even seems like ewcm, so much so that I just did an opk which was negative of coursevas I've already ovd. I can't start symptom spotting yet... It'll drive me mad! X

Sparkly123 · 24/11/2014 22:47

Ninja- glad you mentioned! I shall check out the website. We are actually doing so due to my chronic health issues and were referred to fertility clinic to help us. They provided everything for at home artificial insemination. First month we both found it difficult to know exactly what we are doing with all the equipment but found second cycle much better! Hoping this cycle will result In a BFP for Christmas! CD 3 at the mo. Sorry to hear of your struggle, I really hope this works for you!

Dozygirl · 24/11/2014 23:32

I'm currently desperate for a wee but don't wabt up go in case I lose some sperm haha. Will have to go soon though, it's unbearable.

bluesky can u post your temping chart so I can have a nosy at it? Even though it didn't fnfirm ov IT would be interesting to see. This is my first month temping so I've yet to see my temp go up. On 2nd day of pos opk. I'm expecting another one tomorrow and then I should see a temp rise if it works.

ninjabeer · 25/11/2014 00:34

Thanks Sparkly I am determined to be chilled and positive about this month. We've been trying with the AI for 4 months, this will be round 5. It was all a bit fiddly at first but now we know what we are doing it is actually quite funny and we usually end up falling about laughing at the efforts we are going to! We have an appointment with the doctor this week to get some advice as we have no idea of our fertility anyway so may try and get some tests going so we don't lose too much time. Also have various complications due to genes to add a bit of fun to the mix.

I am staggered at how difficult this procreation lark can be - when I was in my teens I lived in mortal fear of pregnancy - how things change.

Sending lots of positive vibes for a BFP in December - I'm on CD5 but it looks like we are cycle twins and are both expecting our BFP on the same day - roll on the 19th December!

Sparkly123 · 25/11/2014 00:46

Ninja- I know isn't it! The things you learn along the way too...! I had no idea about half of what actually goes on in my body!!

Sounds good- positive and chilled is the key, although I find it extremely hard to be totally chilled, suppose that's natural when you want it so badly! Feel bad too as there are so many lovely ladies who have been trying for so long and here I am only on cycle 3!.. It took us over a year to decide to try for a baby given my health difficulties so it feels like so much longer!

I had a lot of symptoms in the TWW last month and was convinced I would get a BFP, however I ended up just getting sick instead!

Yes a lovely BFP for Christmas would be amazing! I hope so for all!!

Do you use anything like preseed Ninja? Hope you don't mind me asking!

Sparkly123 · 25/11/2014 01:06

Also **Ninja I hope your app goes well with the doctor.. Helpful to find out what you can!
