Just started TTC and obsessing!

Hi all,

I've recently started TTC and am getting a little obsessed! Came off Microgynon mid-August and waited till first proper period after pill, which came on 13th September. That means I should be ovulating around now... so I'm getting pretty excited. Should I be trying not to get excited? I mean, how likely is it that I will get pregnant in the first cycle? Did many of you?

Well I'm on cycle 14 now - I was sure it'd happen first cycle lol. Nothing wrong with getting excited, just be careful not to get too carried away as the end of the month can get pretty depressing if you convince yourself it'll happen straight away. Good luck

I am in the same boat op and am trying really hard not to convince myself it will magically happen first cycle.

I'm also very excited. Had a rough few months but seem to be back on straight and narrow now. I'm on cycle 3. It took 6 cycles with my daughter and 11 cycles with my son. Good luck to all xx

Nothing wrong with getting excited. This is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make and I know when me and my partner decided to start trying a few months ago my excitement went through the roof!

Some women get pregnant first try, first cycle and are very lucky. I think statistically though the majority take up to a year to conceive their first child, others can take longer. If you are prepared for these kind of timescales and you might get a nice surprise if you get your BFP earlier than that.

I'd agree the end of the month can get depressing so try to remain positive and light hearted about things if you can (easier said than done!).

I came off Mercilon bc pill at the end of July so have just started cycle no.3.

21 months of about 16 cycles-ish and Clomid. 14 weeks pg now though.

If you want actual numbers, 1 in 5 couples get upduffed in the first month. Im in my first ever two week window, and I'm driving myself crazy already! Been googling when I can test, and everywhere says I have to wait 2 weeks! Irritating.

So exciting! I got pregnant first cycle with my first and now in first cycle trying for our second! AF due on Wednesday so will wait till then to test. It is so hard waiting and I am getting obsessive myself. Good luck!

I'm currently in cycle 1 and ttc#1. Trying not to obsess, and fairly sure that AF is on the way. I'm due on tomorrow so we'll see, but I'm getting all the usual symptoms so trying not to get my hopes up! Good luck!

First cycle, TTC#1.
Think I ovulated in the past few days, very wet, back and stomach cramps, feeling emotional amd weepy.
Ovia app with regular cycle entered (no idea if correct as been on the pill for 16 years) says ovulation was due Friday gone. May be roughly right.

Waiting for AF in less thsan two weeks.

Thanks for all your comments, it sounds like you'll all keep me in check! I know that I will be very lucky if I manage to get pregnant in the first month, so am trying to not get too excited! It's also nice to hear a few others out there are in the same position as me. It's difficult to only have my husband to chat to about it all... He's trying not to get too excited too so is avoiding talking about it!

I am so glad I'm not the only newbie all of this!
Its a huge sigh of relief when I know it's not just me who feels a little obsessed. I am also TTC#1. AF is due in 11days....lets hope she's packed her bags and gone on a long vacation this time! haha!

Good luck to everyone else though, its good to see a strong support network on here.

Tammisaurus- mines due in 10 days too... will take test on Sat 11th. It's going to be a long 10 days....!

It's going to be a horribly long 10 days haha, I'm driving myself mad symptom watching already haha.
Keep telling myself I must stay calm! Doesn't work though.

I think it's normal to get obsessed right away. If it takes more than a few cycles, your expectations will settle down a bit.

That said, it is possible, I conceived on the first cycle . I can feel when I'm ovulating though, which is enormously helpful!
In some ways I think it's not ideal, because it came very soon after the novel idea of trying. So if it does take a while, try to adjust to the idea of a child rather than obsess about a pregnancy. Ridiculous advice I know

I didn't think I would be obsessing straight away. I think I ovulated last week, had all of the symptoms, the pain in my left lower abdoman, backache, the ewcm (lots of it)..eeewwww.
But I have had an aching pain ongoing since last Friday on and off on the left hand side.
The is my first cycle so not sure if normal or not. I want to poas now but not going to.

3 days until AF is due.

I have a feeling it will be making an appearance this month though.

First cycle, first proper AF due Thursday...we will see. Negative test this morning. Took 3 days early as OH is off working away until Friday. Was excised but trying not to get my hopes up too much for first cycle.
Now hoping it does arrive on time...

Can I gate crash?

Im TTC for the first time (we have a DD but she was surprise)

So this is our first cycle and im apparently in my fertile window but I have PCOS so cant guarantee it unfortunately but I do have some ovulation signs so have everything crossed.

I've read so much over the last week and I'm seriously obsessing but DP is too

AF due 25th here so not quite in 2ww yet
