Over here all breastfeeding TTCers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of TTC while still breastfeeding.

Seeing as I filled up the old thread I thought I should start the new one!

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together). I hope I've worked the links properly.

Quiet thread today. Everyone feeling sorry for themselves like me?!

Ruth yes temping should be able to tell you for sure if you have ovulated (not in advance unfortunately) and can indicate impending AF. Doesn't really work so well if you aren't cycling tho. I would recommend waiting until you get your AF and then start.

How is everyone else doing? I am having Wine

MarysPrayer · 17/02/2015 20:43

Good thanks fazzled Smile Having spent the last three days feeling sorry for myself, I now feel well again. Bug and accompanying headache have gone. I am totally symptom free!
How about you?

Ruth I'm sorry I don't know anything about temping. Did consider buying a bbt thermometer in the hope it might invoke the law of sod and bring about a bfp.

MarysPrayer · 17/02/2015 20:44

fRazzled, sorry Blush

Swannykazoo · 17/02/2015 21:02

Cooeee can I join? Still feeding my 5 days off 14 month old with fairly full on night feeding and co-sleeping. Would love no 2 but with a dairy/soy allergy am providing the milk and out at work daytimes too...Had some sort of a bug which made me feel bit nauseous so got a bit excited but stick says no....
Am very impressed by all the charting here!

MarysPrayer · 17/02/2015 21:12

Ooh a newcomer! Yay! Welcome Smile

Tell us more puggle Has AF returned yet?

If, like me you haven't got a million hours to read the whole thread here is my info: I'm 37, ttc #2 dd is 27 months and feeds 2-3 times per day, AF returned around 8 month pp. Currently near the end of 2nd tww.

peardrop2 · 17/02/2015 21:14

Oh frazzled Hmm Temping saves you money on sticks then! Awww I don't know which is worse...finding out before or on the day AF arrives Confused I guess you're now preparing for it mentally. Still hoping you're wrong!

I'm sooooo tired. I've seriously over done it this week and it's only Tuesday Shock I've packed my week full of distraction, perhaps too much! Time for bed!

Hello pugs. Welcome!

peardrop2 · 17/02/2015 21:16

Oh and frazzled if it helps my face has turned greasy which is my sign that AF is on her way. Save some Wine for me!!!

peardrop2 · 17/02/2015 22:23

Yep, still not in bed because I'm busy thinking about babies lol AGAIN!!

Frazzled - I've been thinking about our sadness to ending bf or coming to an end. Perhaps we're looking at it wrong. Maybe we need to end on a high. Imagine if bf was the cause of us not falling pregnant and we continue on bf for months...I have no doubt that I would eventually become v resentful . Ohhh I don't want to wean Hmm

frazzledtofun · 17/02/2015 22:30

Annoying just lost a post!

Glad to hear you are feeling better Mary! Here's hoping no symptoms = a good symptom!!

Welcome Puggle. Fingers crossed you won't be on this board very long! Grin

Here're my stats for reference: I'm 31, TTC DC2. DD is 26 months. We cut down to just one feed a day at New Year in an effort to get things moving and I FINALLY got my first AF since she was born at the end of Jan. So now on Cycle 1 (although we've been TTC with no AF since December 2013 which has been pretty stupid gruelling).

Pear yes, I guess it's better to have a heads up. Still gutted though. All day I have felt like AF is about to start with really faint cramps and the familiar bloating feeling I usually get just before it starts but still not here yet. It should be starting overnight / tomorrow - I'm hoping for as long as possible because, although I would like to be put out of my misery here, I want a longer LP. Tomorrow will be 11DPO so I guess an 11 day LP is feasible for conception?!

Sorry to hear about your pre-AF greasiness. I will definitely save you some wine - but it might be that you don't want to drink it... Smile

frazzledtofun · 17/02/2015 22:37

Hi Pear - I am sitting on the sofa with my laptop googling random things like "implantation dip at 10PO even though you feel like AF is about to arrive". Hmm

Kind of bored with thinking about babies all the time. Please can I have my brain back? I used to be quite clever. I even have a degree and everything. And it wasn't in baby-related / TTC studies. Grin

Good way to think about it. I just look at my lovely little DD and want to give her EVERYTHING (including milk which she loves so much and which I have loved so much) but I also want to give her a brother and or sister. You're right though. I do feel much better than I did last year. The thought of weaning is starting to be bearable...

I'm going to see what happens with AF - if I get to 11DPO then I might leave it for a bit, but either way I think I am going to leave it until end of April. DD is a Christmas baby and I ideally don't want to have another one at that time of year (or on DD's birthday) as it was quite stressful....

Totally don't know if I can wait that long though. Sad

auroraboringalis · 18/02/2015 03:59

and want to give her EVERYTHING (including milk which she loves so much and which I have loved so much) but I also want to give her a brother and or sister.

Indeed frazzled - it's that little "and". Last night (it wasn't a good one) I decided that I just cannot do this baby caring rubbish another two times! I can't imagine my life being on hold for another six or so years! But I also know that three kids will probably be nicest for all involved! DC should have two others to gripe with about the parents! Grin
Dc is fully awake at this time of the morning so we've come out to play. Hoping in an hour we'll get a very tired baby again (although I don't hold out much hope).

Fecking stupid night. Sad

peardrop2 · 18/02/2015 05:33

Aurora - I hope you managed to both go back to bed?!

I've been awake since 4am Hmm Woke up with a horrible stuffy nose. Looks like I have another cold Sad Desperately trying to not symptom spot but with increased cm and now a cold I'm an idiot it is only dpo5/6

Droflove · 18/02/2015 07:12

Pear drop. Is that a sign? I've suddenly increased cm and a cold, lol. I'm due my second af on Saturday if my cycle us a perfect 28 days. We dtd on day 10 but missed the next few days so I'm not hopeful at all.

peardrop2 · 18/02/2015 08:05

Dro - apparently so but only if you're past dpo10, sound like you're!

frazzledtofun · 18/02/2015 08:21

Morning! We were also up at 4! Managed to get DD to lie down again and miraculously she fell asleep for another hour!

Aurora I hear you! Don't know if I can do this TTC thing again if we are successful this time but let's see. I have always wanted 3 children but right now would be v grateful to have one more!

pear and drof you never know...

Anyone POAS today?

My temp stayed down this morning so it is definitely not an implantation dip - just waiting for AF now. At least I made it to 11DPO which is better!

peardrop2 · 18/02/2015 08:30

Wouldn't it be just soooo helpful if AF gave you a printout with a short answer to why you haven't got a BFP. Didn't Dtd enough, short LP, Dtd at the wrong time etc. how amazing would that be!

Swannykazoo · 18/02/2015 08:37

Sorry - had a waking child so decided to decamp to bed. I'm awaiting the return of AF, but at the magic 14 months I'm hoping she's not far away. I'm 36, turning 37 in August. We have a total sleep refuser high needs baby so DTD is very much in the NIke form (just doing it) but I'd like to get baby years done and dusted if at all possible, theres 18 months between my brother and I and it was geat when we were kids.
Has anyone achieved the holy grail of BFP prior to periods returning??

frazzledtofun · 18/02/2015 09:36

OMG Pear yes that would be wonderful!

Puggle I have heard of two people who got the BFP before AF returned but only after they made rather drastic changes to feeding for a few weeks and were tracking their cycles (in terms of mood, cervical fluid, OPKs). Can't help much on when AF will return I'm afraid. For me it was 25 months pp... I wish I hadn't spent so much time before it came back TTC and thinking about TTC because it really is much less likely to happen with no AF. That said, I am unusual and it probably is around the corner for you. No way of telling really Im afraid.

Bloody hell! Useful to know. I'm sorry to say I couldn't even count the feeds: morning before work, express at lunchtime, feed when home from work/nursery, probably a wee feed as pjs go on, then feed to sleep and wake ups around 2hrly overnight all with variable feeding. Maybe I should just get a dog as I can't see anything reducing anytime soon
Taking charge of your fertility gets recommended a lot but doesn't come in Kindle for "discrete" reading. Would any of you recommend another book that I could get on Kindle format?

MarysPrayer · 18/02/2015 14:12

That's a great idea pear . Shall we go on Dragon's Den? Grin

Frazzled, no poas activity here, I'm proud to say. At 11dpo I am sorely tempted though. . . I'm at work tomorrow so if I can abstain today then my next chance will be Friday, if AF hasn't already arrived by then.

puggle it's so hard having a high needs baby isn't it? Dd was a bloomin' nightmare to get to sleep for at least the first seven months. None if this having a coffee with your friends while she nodded off in her pushchair. Yeah right! If it's any consolation, she's now the brightest toddler among her peers (if I do say so myself). Very unmumsnetty stealth boast there Blush

Hi to everyone else too. Smile

MarysPrayer · 18/02/2015 14:13

Oh puggle that sounds really tough Cake

MarysPrayer · 18/02/2015 14:15

I'm clinging to the probably mistaken belief that your second is always the opposite.

peardrop2 · 18/02/2015 16:38

Ooooo I've just discovered some info from looking at my chart! Today is cd 31 for me! Last month my cycle was 30 days. Is this a sign?!!!

frazzledtofun · 18/02/2015 16:45

Oooh POAS Pear!!
Although if you did ovulate later, you will almost certainly have a later LP. It is rare that changes length.

Totally living vicariously through you now.
Although AF has still not shown up. Really feel like she's just around the corner though and temps are pretty conclusive. Holding out until tomorrow would be good as that would be a 12 day LP! We'll see!
