Over here all breastfeeding TTCers! Welcome to our thread - a place for us to come for support, information and to talk about the extra challenges of TTC while still breastfeeding.

Seeing as I filled up the old thread I thought I should start the new one!

For anyone who is new to the thread or needs a reminder, here are a few links to some useful websites (thanks Waiting for putting these together). I hope I've worked the links properly.

I have been feeling fluey yesterday and today and have googled to see if feeling fluey could be an early symptom of pregnancy!! Well you never know... Or I could just be ill. Hehe. Also DH thinks I am pregnant because the cats are acting strange. I think that has something to do with the full moon tonight...

NewToAllThis11 · 04/01/2015 21:48

Hi all
Haven't been on here since before Christmas, but have just caught up on how everyone is. My DS is 21 months and am feeding him once a day first thing in the morning. He's very often in bed with me by the morning and will not take no for an answer when it comes to his morning feed!
AF came back at 16 months and have had 3 AFs since then, all with long, strange cycles. Am currently on CD 32 and no idea what is going on. I feel too lazy to temperature chart (although I think I will need to start this soon) so I've been checking cm. Had some EWCM almost a week ago, but it didn't stretch 10 inches (tmi), more like 2. DH and I dtd anyway, so we'll see, but it's not really a 2ww because I might be waiting months for AF again.
We've only been trying for a few weeks but I feel fed up with it already.
I'm also binning the booze for January, and hopefully beyond if I can get pg!

NewToAllThis11 · 04/01/2015 21:50

Hide - my sister's cat was really affectionate to me recently and I convinced myself he knew I was pg. I wasnt, but I hope your cats are more intuitive!

NewYearNewYou · 05/01/2015 07:14

You never know hide!!! Stranger things have happened... Here's hoping those cats know something you don't! How long until you can POAS?

Hello this and welcome back! BF cycles are so frustrating aren't they? (Assuming you even have any!) might be worth POAS in another week just in case!

Yay to binning the booze - let's all do it!!

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 07:49

Ahhhh this is very confusing having two New's on the thread...I'm all jumbled up!! Grin

Hide ~ you're not allowed to POAS yet under no circumstances!! Hopefully work will keep you busy this week! sorry I LOL about the cat scenario...made me chuckle Wink

Woohoo I survived a night not having a glass of wine on the couch!

australopithecus · 05/01/2015 07:58

Hi all. New to this thread, and new to the topic! :) I have posted some questions in a new thread, for simplicity's sake and not to clutter up this one , and would love to hear your wisdom on them, please! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2273881-Your-best-tips-from-experience-research-of-TTC-while-bfeeding-3-questions

frazzledtofun · 05/01/2015 08:06

I have changed username because it's not New Year any more - and less confusing!

Well done Pear - I also had no alcohol last night tho I DID have Christmas cake. Home now - and actually in the gym (!!!) - so clearly everything is going to be great from here on in!!

Welcome Austral! Will have a look at your thread but also have a look at the links at the beginning of this thread as there are lots of good stats and info etc there! Smile

PS love your username (studied archaeology myself)

australopithecus · 05/01/2015 08:21

Hurray for archaeological things, frazzled! Thanks for the welcome. Being new to this I can't make head or tail of some abbreviations and data (think my username implies my capacity for these things well!) and am desperately hoping I won't need to. :)

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 08:51

Hi austra, welcome to our crazy TTC bf thread! Nice to see new faces Smile

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 10:10

Austra ~ I've had a look at your questions. If you read the thread (only a few pages back) you'll see all our bf/cycle history as we've recently discussed it on here.

So, cd17 and still negative on cbfm. However, I can see a very faint second line on the cbfm and the OPK cheapie. Last month I didn't get a high reading until cd18 so I guess this is the norm but I'm now thinking that this is a repeat of last month and I'll be too late to ovulate as it wouldn't show a peak before cd20 at this rate?! This is torture lol

australopithecus · 05/01/2015 12:30

Thanks pear. (Suddenly wanting pear drops now!) Grin
I will back-browse through the daunting pages! Everyone seems to know so much! I know we were lucky conceiving first time (two weeks after stopping the pill!) but am now even more aware of all the stress ttc can bring. And all the superhuman acronymic language acquisition! There should so-oo be guidebooks for them. I know ttc and cm. That's it pretty much! Grin

hideandsqueak · 05/01/2015 12:54

Pear am confused if you have a second line then that is good right? Doesn't that mean you are ovulating or am I confused...(very possible)

hideandsqueak · 05/01/2015 12:56

Hi austra! I agree there are so many acronyms it becomes almost like a secret language... I quite like that though.

hideandsqueak · 05/01/2015 13:00

I also refrained from wine yesterday evening but then DS was up for 2 hours last night so back at work and feeling shattered! I work in a very warm room without windows so am struggling to keep awake!

frazzledtofun · 05/01/2015 15:02

Could still happen Pear! Perhaps start DTD every other day for the next few days just in case...? Hopefully ovulation will come on quickly and you'll get a nice strong line tomorrow! (Hide you need the test line to be at least as strong as the control for an ovulation test - it isn't like a pregnancy test where any line is a positive as we have the hormone it measures in our bodies all through our cycles.)

Wishing I had chosen a more empowering username. I chose Frazzled and that's how my day is turning out. Chasing my tail to clean and tidy the house, unpack from Christmas, prepare for friends coming over this evening and do some work - oh and go to reflexology, meet a friend and feed, care for and play with DD!! And no wine to look forward to... Sad

hideandsqueak · 05/01/2015 18:56

Oh yes sorry missed the part where it said faint. Fingers crossed it will still happen for you this month..

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 20:36

Hah hah we're starting to sound like wine fanatics Grin

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 20:42

Frazzle can you just remind me which New you're? Easily confused Blush

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 21:44

On my second glass of water tonight....go me Grin

hideandsqueak · 05/01/2015 21:50

2nd night with no wine for me as well! Though have sore throat so drinking herbal tea and dreading getting a cold when you can't take any good meds cos of bf!

BeanSpr0ut · 05/01/2015 21:58

Hi ladies!
I'm sorta ttc this month. Not preventong anyway. I'm still breastfeeding DD (10 months) am I mad? ??

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 22:01

Yay...another TTC member Smile Nope Bean you're not mad. I've been BF 14months and I'm TTC like a mad lady Grin

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 22:02

14 months?! I mean 19 months, soon to be 20 months Wink

BeanSpr0ut · 05/01/2015 22:05

Luckily I've had regular periods since 6w pp so luckily can track my periods well!
I had the copper coil for 6 months and had it removed last month and it wasn't agreeing with me (that and the mix of wanting another teeny tiny screamy baby)....

peardrop2 · 05/01/2015 22:34

Hahhah I know... Why exactly do we want another teeny tiny screaming baby? WinkGrin
