can you get pregnant after ovulation

Me and my other half had sex 2 days after ovulation unprotected (it was very silly of us, we were tired and hungry ashamed to admit) read a few things online and most said its impossible. I am now 3 days late, and slightly worried.

We have a 14 month old and he is amazing and another baby will be on the cards in the future but we are not totally ready yet. We have just brought a house and in the process of doing it up and I am worried if I am pregnant we would struggle financially.

(Please dont judge about the unprotected sex. I know we were very stupid)

Well yes, it takes a little while to travel and there's nothing to say you didn't ovulate a day later than you thought.

Might be worth doing a test though.

How do you know it was 2 days after ovulation? I think it would be highly unlikely, but why don't you just do a pregnancy test to find out?

How sure are you about your ov date? It can vary by a day or two as far as I know. If your cycle is regular and you're 3 days late, you probably need to POAS. Hope all works out for you

I have charted my ovulation and periods since I started my periods after breast feeding, although you are right as I could be a day out. I feel very foolish like its such stupid thing to do.

I am dreading telling my other half. I might wait a couple of days as it could be stress?

I'd always share my concerns with my husband. It's not like it's all your responsibility. Why not do a test and then you'll know. Fingers crossed its just your body playing silly buggers.

Thanks. I know I should just tell him. In a way i think im just nervous as its not like we dont want any more its just a bit too soon. I should stop overthinking things until I have done the test.

Just to keep you updated. Thanks gemerama82 i spoke to my oh and we took 2 tests. both positive. still in shock but we are happy (scared) top add to our family x
