First response test

We are currently trying to conceive our second & my AF is due on Wednesday. My DH goes away on Monday till Friday so I want to take the pregnancy test together. If I take a test tomorrow morning, will this be too early? I will be using a first response pregnancy test.

Oh just to add, I just wondered if anyone else had taken a test a few days before period due and got a positive?

Tomorrow it may be to early, you could get a BFN and actually be pregnant, if you can wait until your DH comes back :) and good luck!

What's more relevant is how many DPO you are, not how many days from AF.

With both of mine I tested positive at 10 DPO, but as implantation takes place between 6-12 DPO, you can test positive from about 10 DPO, but sometimes not until 16 DPO.

So yes you may get a positive, but a negative wouldn't mean you aren't pregnant.

Thanks! I actually got a little bit of browny pink spotting last night and wondering if it could be an implantation bleed? My period never starts like that and I have had nothing else since. I wore a pad all night and nothing. It would be early for my period too as it's due around Wednesday/Thursday. I guess I will have to wait!

That's promising! You're better off testing at least 4 days post-spotting.

Thank you I think I will try my very hardest to wait till Tuesday (Wednesday if I can). I think I tested too early this morning as I probably implanted very recently IF I am pregnant.

Still no AF. The waiting is so horrible! Do you think the timing 4 days before I am due would be right for implantation bleeding?

Hi little the only issue with testing early - i did - is that you are unsure if it's very feint line. I had wanted to announce in a lovely confident way to DH (like a marriage proposal!) but he came downstairs at 12dpo to me squinting at a stick. We both ageed there was something but spend the next 24 hours hoping. It meant we didn't get the Big Bang I had wanted as it was a 'maybe' for 24 hours. We were trying for 20months so still thrilled obvs!!!!

Do you know when you ovulated? I've had faint positives 9dpo with first response and the early superdrug tests. But, as everybody has said, a negative today won't mean you aren't pregnant... Good luck.

I have not tracked ovulation but if I am not pregnant I will next month. I tried to look for a faint line & couldn't see a thing :( keep telling myself their is still hope. I got pregnant first month of trying with DS so was lucky, doubt I will be this time too!

Again, implantation bleeding is based around DPO, not pre-AF. So it might be right. It might not. Depending on how many DPO you are.

Those '5 days before AF is due' tests are misleading as it isn't about when AF is due, in relation to when you can test positive.

Ok thanks HungryHorace that does make sense I have been using an app for about 6 months now to calculate a possibly ovulation date and that was saying 10 days ago. I know it's not always accurate but it's a guideline. If it is correct-ish then the dates make sense that I could implant around now.

AF started two days early and I got a bfn before that. So no idea why this month I spotted! So annoying. On cd10 of second cycle now and decided to try opk sticks to see when I am ovulating.
