Does anyone else get a little envious and inferior when they read about bfp's when they're ttc. or is it just me, mind being flooded off my feet with A.F is probably not helping. She turned up yesterday 2 days early.

Mind I was feeling a bit jealous before we'd even started trying and I was just lurking on this board. Logical!

I think it's pretty natural.

Being jealous doesn't mean you're not pleased for the person reporting their bfp, it's just you really want it to be you too.

What is bfp? Sorry, new to the board and can't find the place on site which explains the acronyms. Thanks

It's Big Fat positive (positive home pregnant test). I was a bit jealous to start with but actually now just genuinely feel happy for each woman as this is a hard long business!

Ah ha. Thank you. I knew it was along those lines (excuse the pun).

I get that it could evoke a pang of envy. But also happiness for that person too.

We think we're going to try next year, so just scanning the board!

Oh yep, at the moment I'm in a ' oh go f@ck yourself' kind of a place. Its not great!

I am genuinely happy for every one when they get their BFP, but it does make me sad that it's not me. I think it's completely normally, TTC is really emotionally and physically draining, so it's bound to take its toll, even if you're genuinely happy for someone else.

I get a teensy bit jealous too, but it depends on the time of the month like you. If AF has just arrived, the fresh disappointment and hormones make it worse. The rest of the month, I'm generally fine, though I imagine it gets harder the longer you've been ttc. It's a weird sensation isn't it? Jealous, sad, happy, excited and frustrated all at once!

My cousin has just announced she's pregnant, I thought she was but didn't want to ask her and ruin her moment. We're pretty close so even if it takes me a while to conceive I can look forward to baby cuddles in the near future!
