So I have come off depo injection on 4th sept due to falling preg in weeks twice before GP said likely to happen quickly so I have to test every 4/6 weeks. Decided to get some ovulation tests to try to see when I start ovulating since it may happen before a period but i'm totally confused now.

So I started testing on 18th go 2 lines the test line was clearly there but not quite as strong as the control line so according to instructions that's a negative but every test since the test line has been barely visible. I have tested the same time every day holding it for 4 hours before so no change there. My friend thinks I must have ovulated because the difference is the colour of the test line was so much stronger then suddenly hardly there.

Anyone used these tests or can explain why I got such a strong line then almost no line without ovulating?? wish I never bothered now I have even less idea of what is going on.

This exactly happened to me with the boots ones on the 27th... Mine was a little bit lighter than the control but very much a proper line (like your pic) and the 3 I've done since have had faint lines that are totally different to the one on Sat morning (before which there was no line whatsoever). Do you think this means we ovulated? So confused!! I thought I was going to get AF this weekend but it's my 1st cycle off the pill so I don't really know but for the purposes of working out when I'm due it would be great to know if that was an ovulation...

Hi, I bought the boots ov tests and looked at other reviews which said that they only got a lighter than the control line and still got BFP so obviously ov lol and when I did them it was mainly faint but one fairly strong one so I'm being hopeful XXX where are you all in your cycles now? Only in first week of the 2ww its killing me!!!

Hi just seen your thread and wanted to say I've had exactly the same results.

I posted a pic on another thread. One person said they had the same as me and another lady said she can have varying degrees of darkness throughout her cycle but darker than the control line when she ovulates as the instructions indicate.

I have 2 theories but no idea if either are right. The first is that I have a surge but it isn't as high as it should be (perhaps I don't ovulate) Very glad to hear about the lady who clearly did.

The 2nd is that the brand want to say '99% accurate'. I wonder if they are hedging their bets and if the test line is darker they're happy to commit. Perhaps our levels are lower and this is how a surge shows for us.

Good luck everyone.
