My DP and I are ttc our 1st child together (my 5th). I am 40 and had my Nexplanon implant removed in June, this is cycle 4. Last 2 months I O'd on around CD16, today is CD12 and I got LH surge today (straight from low to peak on CBFM this morning and a peak again on a cheaper OPK at about 3pm). DP works away during the week and went back to work at 5am this morning. We DTD yesterday a few times - the last at about 5.30pm.

My question is about when ovulation occurs after the LH surge. Would yesterday have been "enough"? We are hoping that he can get home for a night this week - I was hoping for tomorrow he thinks Wednesday would be more likely, is this likely to be to late to catch the egg as it were? I still want him home of course regard, ess!!

Hi Probably,

Sperm can live up to 7 days so there is a chance.

After a positive opk you ovulate any when up to 36 hours after and the egg only lives for 24 hours I believe.
