Long term TTC then natural BFP

This might be better on the pregnancy forum but I know a lot of you ladies here have also been pregnant before.

My question is: if you were trying for a long time with no known fertility problems and then got pregnant, did your TTC experience mean you kinda guessed before your BFP?

I ask as I can't imagine not having an inkling purely because, after well over a year of TTC, I know my cycle so well. I know every twinge, pain, cramp and CM type by the cycle day! Surely if I was pregnant I would pick up on changes? Or are the hormonal differences so small at this early stage that you wouldn't know anything?

I feel exactly the same unfortunately, we've been TTC since January. It's something I often wonder too, ever month I pray to feel 'different' in the 2WW. How long have you been TTC? X

Hi stqueen We've been actively TTC for 16 months but off birth control for 4 months before that :-( Had most of the tests by now and all seems ok. Frustrating!

Yeah, I feel like I know my body and it's cycle in such intricate detail by now that if anything was remotely different, I'd know.

We were trying for nearly two years - had tests but there was no obvious reason why I couldn't get pregnant. I started using those cheapy eBay ovulation sticks, and they said I hadn't ovulated that month. My period still hadn't appeared so I decided to 'waste' the last pregnancy test in my stash, despite not feeling any different. I just wanted to know for sure that I wasn't pregnant so I'd stop thinking about it.
I was indeed pregnant, and DS1 has just started school
I thought I would know I was pregnant, having spent so much time analysing everything about myself, but my body was still able to surprise me. Hope yours can too. Good luck!

We were ttc for 3 yrs, the month I got a bfp I genuinely had no idea. I'd had cramps the week before and had just assumed it was AF. Didn't do a test til I was over a week late as I thought there was no chance. Had far less 'symptoms' than other months. Good luck, it's frustrating trying month after month

i have to say also, as much as i know my body, when i ovulate and recognise each twinge, cm ect ech blah blah, i too genuinely had no idea with each of my pregnancies. (had 1 stillbirth at 42 weeks, 2 live births, 1 miscarriage) how strange. x

I was a 'secondary infertility' sufferer and spent a fortune on hpts because I'd start testing about 4 days post ovulation and still get disappointed with a BFN!

The month I found out I finally was pregnant (36 months of TTC) I tested with fmu 7 days before I was due on (negative). I just felt a bit odd, so I went and bought a first response at midday and got a faint positive. I tested with a normal test at about 4pm and that was a stronger positive, so I allowed myself to believe it, then.

So, in answer to your question, yes I did know, but I can't describe how I felt different, I just felt a bit peculiar!
