Does bbt need to be taken orally?

Ok. So here's my dilemma. DH and I are TTC for almost 3 months now and already had a MC at 4 weeks earlier this month. Doc told us we can go at it again right away so long aways we were emotionally aways nd physically ready, which we are. So we're up upping our game and doing our best to do everything we can to get bfp as soon as possible.

Now I downloaded the Ovia app which helps tremendously. However, I noticed my bbt's are all over the map and I think it's because I'm a mouth breather because I have a deviated septum in my nose.

My question is, besides taking my bbt where the sun don't shine, which I'm really not comfortable with the idea, can I take my bbt anywhere else but orally to boost the accuracy like maybe my ear with one of those ear ones?

Either an ear one or one of the new infra-red forehead ones.

Actually I might completely be making up "infra-red forehead thermometers", I mean the new no-touch forehead thermometers.

I've heard you can't use the in ear ones (I don't know why). how about under the underarm?

personally I think its fine to take it anywhere so long as u are consistent with same spot all month thru.

my bbt is all over the show as well, I blame it on terrible sleeping habits and waking all night long. I think its just not that reliable for me.

Sorry ear thermometers cannot be used. Vaginal is most reliable and consistent, but oral is the other option.
