Hey everyone, both myself and my partner are in our mid-twenties. Been TTC for 14 months so far with no success so we're going to see the GP together next week.

I want to make a space for people who are going through testing to talk together, mainly because I want to hear from MNers what their experiences are so far from the first meeting with your GP.

What happened after your first meeting with your GP? What tests have you had? How do you feel about the process? Any advice for someone just starting down this road?

Hi Lady,

If you join TTC 10 Months Plus, Supporting each other & Staying Positive :) This thread will be the BFP one!...most of us on there are having tests etc.

Some info about me im 26 and my dp is 30 weve been ttc 1 for 18 months with no joy. After a year I went to my gp to start the ball rolling she got me to have day 21 tests for 3 months to see if I was ovulating which I wasnt and sent my dp to have his sperm tested which was fine.

The gp will ask alot of questions (often in a way that makes you feel like they think your stupid lol), but the main thing they will do is the blood tests and sperm test. Its worth having your dp there.

After finding out I wasnt ovulating she put us forward to get an appointment with gynae and he did an internal scan and asked many many questions about us both (its a joint appointment). He then put me forward to have a HSG scan and more blood tests and asked me to come back in 3 months which is next week.

In the mean time I have started ovulating (positive opks), HSG was clear so we will see what gynae say.

Good luck with it all if you have any questions please ask!

I've been on that thread before, but I wanted to specifically ask about the test side of things.

I think our main worries is DP's sperm being tested and making sure that my hormone levels are ok and that my womb/leuteal phase is alright. I already use OPKs so according to them I am ovulating.

My main worry is that they will say there is nothing wrong! I think I would rather be told I have this problem and this is how we treat it. Does that sound strange?

I also want to be tested for endometriosis as that's in my family.
