Hey. So we're ttc #1 after Mc last month. I've heard that the pillow under hips really helps but I'm not sure if that's a wive's tail or not. Any tips and suggestions?

The three times I have purposely fallen pregnant, I have, immediately after dh ejaculated, gone up into a shoulder stand, and stayed there for about 20-30 minutes (balancing on the wall with a pillow under my upper back for more comfort). I tried for 7mths, unsuccessfully with ds1, before a dr told me that my cervix was very far back and tilted, and gave me that tip.

The only time I fell pg by accident (ds2), we were (sorry, far tmi) doggy position, with me kind of laying on my front, and I fell asleep like that straight after (was on the mini pill). Sorry if that was a bit gross Hmm

Good luck with your ttc.

Not gross at all. Kinda made me chuckle lol. We've been ttc #1 for only about 2 1/2 months now. I got pregnant under 2 months but lost it almost right away. Just trying to make sure this one sticks if you know what I mean.

Totally understand. So sorry you miscarried, I have been so lucky that that has never happened to me but I have close friends who have gone through it and I can see how badly they have been affected by it. I'll keep everything crossed for you, let me know how you get on! Flowers

Thanks. And will do

Straight forward biology shows that the pillow under the hips thing will work. Actually more physics than biology. Gravity will keep his sperm further back and so closer to the cervix if your hips are raised.

I used to sleep the whole night with a pillow under the hips when TTC. Gave me backache sometimes, but worked.

Shoulder stand is the same principle (indeed even better, I'm just not that agile!), as it raising hips and cycling legs.

Not agile enough for shoulder or head stands either. Figured 3 pillows for 30 minutes would do the trick lol

According to a book I am reading. It says that it does help increase your chances as gravity helps things along. So I think why not try it! Smile

This is very interesting! Have just started ttc and am very excited about it. Probably need to calm down, will be trying raised hips though!

  1. get your thyroid function tested (and checked for thyroid antibodies) - don't be fobbed off with "normal".... Ask for the actual numbers, your TSH should be between 0.5 to 2.0 as a woman of childbearing age. Under active thyroid is a common factor in early miscarriages Sad
  1. Yes the pillow helps. It gets gravity on your side in getting sperm through your cervix towards the egg. My 4yo is proof it works! Grin

Good luck!
