Me & DP have been TTC for about 3 months but not tracking ovulation or anything.

Prior to TTC I was on a mini pill (can't remember what it was called) for 3 months and before that I had the implant for just over 2years.

Since coming off the pill I've had about 3 continuous days of very light bleeding which was a brownish colour (sorry tmi!), this was about 2 weeks ago. Other than that I've had no proper period.

I had symptoms that you would relate to being pregnant but 3 pregnancy tests have all come back negative.

hugs. It could still be that your body and your cycle are still not back to normal after the pill and the implant. have you noticed any other signs of ovulation at any point? I'll keep my fingers crossed for some good news for you though. X

Can't say I've noticed anything else apart from getting really achey breasts & At one point my sense of smell rocketed

Hi, I'm no expert but it may well be that your cycles haven't settled. I was on the implant for 4 and a half years. I had a small bleed like the one you describe 3 days after it was removed. I then didn't have a proper period for 6 weeks. From then I have been very regular for 5 cycles (28 days once 27, once 29).

The implant is good as it is a low level hormone so in theory your body returns to normal quicker than the combined pill. I'be never taken the mini pill though, and I don't know what effect 3 months of it might have had on your cycle.

As it happens I was very keen after my withdrawal bleed (3 days after the implant removal) so used an ovulation test for 10 days. All showed absolutely nothing so I know I wasn't ovulating. Then had a proper period after 6 weeks so made sense. Used them this month for the 1st time since and I seem to be working.

Even if you don't want to start using them all the time, maybe try next month if you bleed again? That way at least you will have a better idea about whether your ovulating. It's helped me relax even if I don't test next month.

Sorry for the essay, Good Luck!

Hi all sorry to jump in,just joined this site looking for some advice, had coil removed 12 days ago and no bleed/period at all, i only ever had a one day thing on the coil anyway so confused as to when il ovulate now! Hmm

Wow the sense of smell thing was a huge indicator of pregnancy for me, both times....as well as tender breasts.

I also did two tests that came back negative because I was testing too early (a day before my period was due and then the next day), even though they were early response ones. A week later I got my bfp Smile

Don't want to get your hopes up though because it could be your cycles balancing out etc as other posters have suggested.

Thanks for your replies.

I did wonder if it was all balancing out but then confused myself as I'd bled slightly

Test again in a week? Could be an implantation bleed....

I found that after coming off the pill I had pregnancy like symptoms for a few months. I also didn't have a "proper" AF so I was convinced I was pregnant! I wasn't, it was just my body adjusting to coming off the pill.
A couple of months after that we properly started trying and I got pregnant! Smile

Same happened to me when coming off the pill (and had been having the injection for years before that). I had the first proper period almost 6 weeks later, and they were regular from then on.

I found using OPKs useful, helped me be aware of what my body was doing. Also used Period Tracker (free app) to keep a record of everything.

Found I didn't ovulate at all for the first two months, but then got pregnant on the second cycle after that. Keeping track and finding your most fertile days isn't the sexiest thing ever, but it does work! Wink
